23/6/2018 11:38 | O/T Spike, As it's the weekend one more O/T post. Re ITM I wasn't promoting EV's or any other form of propulsion just saying hydrogen can't compete on cost/mile with existing petrol/diesel. I agree after cost infrastructure is a big issue. OPTI/SBTX are focused on scientific areas I know well from my R&D days. There is a lot of progress being made in the gut flora field in animal health which can move much faster than the human research. There is a book by Tim Spector, an academic doing research in the gut flora field. The title is 'The Diet Myth' which is a poor title as it gives the wrong impression. It's all about how our gut microbes affect/control areas of our health which most people don't realise. Easy to read and quite an eye opener. | serratia
23/6/2018 11:29 | rainbow23 Why do you not see good prospects for this company and it's advanced materials technology? I'm genuinley interested and would be much obliged if you would elaborate. It is essential to consider all sides of an investment, which I have already attempted to do here, but I recognise the value in listening to all views, positive and negative. | richardhewson
23/6/2018 10:59 | Also I see Matt and David have continued to he positive on twitter, also NR putting kempster down nicely | sonsonnyjim
23/6/2018 10:56 | Sounds like someone here is still asleep and dreaming. Maybe he's a sandwich short of a picnic. | rainbow23
23/6/2018 10:54 | Sonson - well quite. IF all goes well VRS has *decades* of growth ahead of it - new 2D materials, new applications, new products, new markets.Assuming they don't get taken over, of course. | club sandwich

23/6/2018 10:38 | Graphite - we may have had a quiet week, but I'm focussed on the future. Not quite as far out as our CEO - I'm looking a year ahead to when China is up and running, ISO cert is gained and large orders for nanene and/or inks have started arriving. If all of that happens - and it all seems highly likely, though of course there are no guarantees - I expect unicorn+, and a share price of c£10 or more wouldn't surprise me. And the things I've listed above are just what we're expecting - who knows what other surprises might be sprung on us at any time? And all of that would still only be the beginning: c2000 2D materials identified, and the whole world to commercialise them in across almost every conceivable sector. An unimaginably huge opportunity...It's hugely frustrating of course waiting for all that, but that's what we should focus on, not day-to-day movements and the shorters trying to make a quick buck.Oh, and one thing I forgot: in a year's time it's highly likely that Chinese retail investors will be able to buy VRS stock... | club sandwich
23/6/2018 10:23 | Thanks, 20pc - can't wait until 5pm; you're right, totally addictive. Is 5pm's peak when us Brits have a cuppa? Might be a tweak at 4pm in this household. Or is it an early supper? | axotyl
23/6/2018 10:13 | Spike - a very valid point and shows that one size will not fit all. Hopefully the upcoming battery technology has/will have vastly improved capacity and mileage so nightly charging may not be essential for many. Also solar cells have been seeing breakthroughs in efficiency levels to where home battery storage (e.g. Tesla Powerwall) could be used towards the vehicle recharge. At a push, non peak domestic power could also be used to charge the home battery ready for the nightly surge ?. It will be an interesting time. | dgduncan
23/6/2018 09:57 | 20pc - I guess I am a saddo as I think this is a very interesting site. Thanks for that. | dgduncan
23/6/2018 09:32 | OT but VERY Interesting if you are the sort of sad person like a lot of us on here who spend too much time researching and are into statistics. Some while ago i was into a company creating electricity from old coal mine methane gas. As a result of that research I came across the following website that displays the UK (and French) Electricity demand in almost real time it is fascinating we can see when the wind turbines don't supply any wind etc etc have a look at peak demand about 5pm. This is relevant to the EV mention this morning how can could demand be met? If you hover the dials it explains what they are all about I liked the only form of stored energy "pumped" sad I know but that site can get a bit addictive to watch. | 20pc
23/6/2018 08:41 | Hello Spike, I agree a lot with what you say. As they cram more and more people onto our little island. Maybe a 'plugin' swap out battery system would help at a charge station, a bit like a McDonalds drive through. Interested in how much money this company is making: | laginaneil
23/6/2018 08:38 | Mike - OT that nicely illustrates some of the infrastructure problems re electric vehicles. Hydrogen is not without it’s own problems either. I have no doubt solutions can be found but they will require substantial investment. | johnveals
23/6/2018 08:21 | OT serratia: re your: ITM / hydrogen and widespread adoption not likely , due in part cost per mile. There is a 'hidden problem': I live on a private housing estate in London, essentially it has lots of 'blocks' comprising around 600 homes plus various commercial elements. Residents have asked management to provide electricity for their garages (we have several hundred) and possibly later parking spaces. The nightmare scenario is that there would need to be enough power to give all garages the ability to be able to re-charge overnight a car that had traveled - say - to Cardiff and back. In short it's NOT like trickle charging a phone, it is a HUGE amount of electricity! And of course, that amount of additional power was never a design parameter when the estate including a substation was built. The estate covers many acres so it's got a substantial electrical infrastructure that would need to be upgraded, and I have no idea if the local power infrastructure could handle that increase? I's all very well saying that batteries will become more efficient, and able to charge faster, but the fact remains, the same amount of power is required, and if it can be done quicker it will need an even bigger load bearing capacity. Hydrogen on the other hand will still provide the electricity, but be put into the car's tank on about 5 minutes. Best wishes - Mike | spike_1
23/6/2018 07:47 | Next up for the VRS Weekend Couour Supplement - Sculpting with graphene foam! Interesting stuff from Rice University, courtesy of the NGA newsletter: | shavian
23/6/2018 00:44 | The vivo advertising at the world cup are not our vivo. but they sound like a perfect candidate to become a VRS customer. A Chinese smartphone company no one has ever heard of is making a huge impact in 2018, and it’s innovating more than Apple or Samsung | 20pc
22/6/2018 23:53 | 20pc Thanks! | sandbag
22/6/2018 23:40 | Sonsonnyjym if I can just tell you one thing I have learnt. The hardest thing to do is nothing. You have bought Vrs because you believe in it . When you have a quiet week like this week it is so easy to sell a few and go rainbow chasing . Inveriably by the time you buy you will be spiked and either have to sell at a loss or hold a share you know little about. So my advise do nothing sit on hands and let Neill Matt and David do there jobs. You have chosen well . Government have not put Matt with us to make a few quid. He has been seconded to Vrs to help the U.K. economy. Do the math. Sweet dreams | graphite bot
22/6/2018 23:27 | And why not? | rainbow23
22/6/2018 23:22 | Much appreciated graphite. Something tells me we won't see rainbow for a while.. | sonsonnyjim
22/6/2018 23:18 | It’s been a quiet week and I was looking forward to a lazy weekend. Stress free Now those rotters are making me wish for Monday morning . Gotta love being a holder here. Night all | graphite bot
22/6/2018 23:16 | Hmm can't see it, if anyone can link it that'd be awesome! Excited for next week now | sonsonnyjim |
