19/6/2020 16:41 | I'm short on the DOW and TSLA currently, for my sins. I am also looking at several next generation energy companies - many are built on hype. As I work in the area then I have some idea what will and what will not make it. Some of those valuations are beyond stratospheric. Of course, been here before in the .com boom and it is very hard to call the top. It did become stick the pin in the page and buy it, as it would be up 20 % plus within a week. Some of those valuations with 20 years of hindsight just make me laugh that I was willing to buy them. Even worse, I made money on many of them. That's the crazy part. The market can be completely irrational. You needed deep pockets to be short but it eventually all blew up spectacularly! | polaris

19/6/2020 16:29 | Paul, I was selling Ftse 100 and Russel 2000 but with uneven results. What you preparing to sell ? Tech is difficult to sell imo - can go much higher ( | a1ord53
19/6/2020 15:41 | wrt comment yesterday - yes, I have trimmed 1/4 of my holding today near the resistance at 106 p. I also have a few sell orders on the book in case we see a repeat in the US overlap hours. I want to see the share price build a base above 100 p before i'll add them back. @Alex - price movement is unlikely to be anything related to the GSK litigation, for the reasons that you have highlighted. However, VEC is well known as a candidate for runs up and down, based on relatively low volumes, so i put this move down to another one of those for now. In general market terms, I am looking to the Covid-19 figures in the US and elsewhere and that it will soon come the time for a realisation that the economy of the world is in for a harder time than most seem to credit. It's not going to be a V... I am building to the short side on several overvalued, as far as i am concerned, techs that need the middle classes to be able to spend freely to justify their lofty ratings. My VEC profits are going there for now. | polaris
19/6/2020 09:53 | Hi Paul, if you saw court records I posted here, it looks like it will be court hearings between August and December 2020. So price move probably unrelated to litigation unless they try to do out of court settlement imo. Your view ? Thx | a1ord53

19/6/2020 09:32 | No, it is not capped at 100 p. It is as per page 20, clause 3(c) of the circular for the share consolidation and buyback: the Company shall not pay more (excluding expenses) for each ordinary share than the higher of (1) an amount equal to 105 per cent. of the average of the middle market price of an ordinary share as derived from the London Stock Exchange Daily Official List for the five business days immediately preceding the date on which the Company agrees to buy the ordinary shares concerned and (2) the higher of the price of the last independent trade and the highest current independent bid for an ordinary share on the trading venue where the purchase is carried out. So, when the share price is moving ahead quickly the buyback must stop, which it did yesterday. regards, Paul | polaris
19/6/2020 09:12 | Poster in LSE says that the buyback was capped @ 100p & correctly observed that the main rise in our share price came after the ending if the buy backs & presumably there will be no buy backs today either so let’s see how our share price ends the week .Currently firm but early days . | base7
19/6/2020 08:12 | I noticed the buyback seemed to stop once the share price began to take off, it’ll be interesting to see how they react today if the price doesn’t fall back. | diesel
18/6/2020 22:10 | Just a shame my holding is now only 1/3 of what it was, due to the market gyrations. I never got around to adding once it reached the 90 p level. Ho hum. | polaris
18/6/2020 17:54 | I’m slightly nervous to comment but it does feel different can see a slight retrace Friday then Kick on into 110p range ,is it down to the sector and c19 possibly. | best1467
18/6/2020 17:51 | Big rise on high volume. Definite FTSE250 coming if we can stay above 100p. Perhaps some funds have started buying in? | justiceforthemany
18/6/2020 17:43 | You deserve this Paul.. Will u sell as not to experience the usual planned retracement or does it feel different this time | insideryou
18/6/2020 17:32 | Hik haven’t moved today & while it would arguably be a bigger deal for Vec than Hik ,as they are valued at 10x our value ,you would have still expected a leak to push them forward too .I am hoping that perhaps that there will be soon announced another deal brokered by our new senior management team which was higher too unexpected by The Market ,or any one except the senior management team.Lets hope we can build in this bridgehead & start to recover ground since the ill fated acquisition of our SKP shares | base7
18/6/2020 16:56 | Healthy breakout. Long time coming.Fingers crossed for next chapter. | richtea2517
18/6/2020 16:18 | www.proactiveinvesto "I added some more of drugs company Vectura (VEC).I discussed reasons for this one last time - but I've added as it gradually seems to be adding one or two pence a day. It is trying to get through the crucial 100p mark at the moment and if it can make a few closes above that, then it would look very bullish. It is in the respiratory market which is much in demand for obvious reasons." | scotches
18/6/2020 16:10 | i'll bet on a favourable advair leak-only reason share price could be so strong recentlyjust my opinion of course | richman777114
18/6/2020 16:01 | Hopefully next resistance will be rapidly exceeded if positive news is released very soon to support our strengthening share price on the basis that there is no smoke without fire .We have been buying back shares for some time & that has previously not caused our share price to rise (although it may have prevented it falling ).Lets hope we hold today’s gains into the close & see what the morrow brings | base7
18/6/2020 15:33 | Well done Andrew for the comment, thus pushing VEC well and truly into 3-figures. All frivolity aside, let's see whether we can stay there... | polaris
