22/6/2013 09:21 | Bizarre drop . One more rumour of a bid and it will be bouncing up towards £8 again. The fears of Ofwat showing some teeth is making some analysts downgrade their UU forecasts, so the share price plunges. To my thinking , this is not news. It is just a restatement of the same old fears that have kept UU as a good value equity. Brokers are trying to justify their pay, and it becomes self fulfilling if enough of them repeat it. If someone wants to sell into this "news" then I am happy to buy. More of a worry is if someone sees this as a time to buy the whole company cheaply. I don't think they have dawn raids any more. | wad collector

29/5/2013 22:53 | Just read something on the BBC News website about a tax change that will stop utility companies from claiming capital allowances on expenditure already paid for by their business customers. Apparently allowances of c.£50m have been claimed since January. May partly account for today's fall? | alan@bj

14/5/2013 09:48 | I just sold most of my holding for 770p. It may turn out to be an error , but there have been so many false bid rumours here that I am taking the risk. It is not a high yielder any longer at this price , so time to take an exit and buy back when the froth settles? | wad collector
