But the OSV Pacific Harrier is not a normal supply vessel?

Thanks, I've been looking at it for 2 years :-)

OK well done!
Did suspect a name change and two vessels. Thus the recent flying visit to 'Stena Forth' the 'normal' OSV now returning to T&T.

OK, I've got it now (i think) Billy_Buffin

There are 2 vessels.

"Pacific Harrier" a normal offshore supply vessel, as per

and

"Harrier Explorer" the converted survey vessel that is working in Suriname for Exxon

SS - Total have all the skills to do the job in Carbonates.

As you know Exxon are drilling Ranger-2 now, then will drill another carbonate prospect called Walker on Block 42 Suriname with Hess/KOS, probably as a 2020 well.

Just wondering if this is anything to do with the new interest.

According to Texas-based oil services company Schlumberger Limited, exploration and evaluation programs for carbonates are similar to those for sandstone reservoirs. However, new tools, techniques, and interpretation methodologies are required to address the specific challenges above to drill and produce these reservoirs optimally.

from 2018 Ranger 1

bb... haven't found the dedicated Port of Georgetown.gov site yet as yet, if there is one. Was using

OSV Pacific Legend recently into Georgetown maybe one to watch.
[Edit: 06:28 8/Jul PL seems to be off to Lisa at some point]

Unable to come up with answer to 'Pacific Harrier' upgrade and Swire fleet details and SPO Survey Services details.

Node or no Node it now in the field stopped.

Not seen port movements site good find.

thanks ss, the Chevron you tube was very useful. Not convinced Tullow are doing a node survey. The argument that they are, seems to be predicated on the notion that Pacific Harrier's sole function in life these days is to conduct Node Surveys. Maybe it is, maybe not. Who knows? That they are doing a "survey" ought to be positive surely.

BillyB ----> Have you tried Georgetown Port Arr/Dept on marinetraffic?

Just gone through about last 10 days A/D. Found about 12 OSV's. Ten of those seemed to be attached to Exxon (exclusive or not?) That left Skandi's Buchan & Foula, the former seems to be working for Saipem (maybe on Lisa). Anyway if you see a vessel leaving Tullow's rig, it may turn up on Port Arrivals.

From Google,Hope it helps!
Highly sensitive seismic nodes can be used in different locations Land ,Sea surface or Ocean floor.

From The Gil Interviews we are quite near the basin Edge so Perhaps they want a better look.

Dunno itcf's. May not even be a node survey. "Survey" could mean sampling the ocean bottom for future well locations. Haven't really a clue to be honest!

BB - strangely the Swire Fleet Brochure makes no reference to that conversion.
See H Class. And they have a separate "survey class".

can someone explain the significance, or otherwise, of a node survey?

xxn Pacific Harrier:

I searched for "Pacific Harrier" Seismic and got all the info on the conversion. It was quite substantial. Must cost a packet to utilise this though... Perhaps something found?

thanks for that BB. Whoever discovered that mariners link you posted is a genius. Was looking at the notices earlier. Couldn't find the 'Kacey', as thought it was an OSV. Have located it now (thanks) in T&T. Seems to be a crew boat. The survey points to further interest. The other place seem to be suggesting a node survey for reservoir characterisation. Neither vessel seems very sophisticated from a seismic perspective. So I'm bemused. TLW recovering after a fall. ECO the opposite. Probably best to wait for the rns.

Lucky to have a survey ship available and on its way ,must be something of interest to go to the expense.

xx dificult to say without shelling out money to marinetraffic but:

'Stena Forth' Rig has not moved as yet from July and at 8.145567N -57278W
One unknown OSV of two regulars is currently alongside.

'Pacific Harrier' OSV (has been converted to Node Survey facilities) arrives soon in the field from its T&T anchorage for the extended survey on Jethro-1?

OSV 'Kacey'(Musgraves?!) supposed standby vessel to cover the mystery extended survey scope. Edit: Still at anchor at T&T

pdf55 refers to the scope of extended survey for Jethro

Have not really been following J well in Guyana. It's been drilling for about 31 days now. There are 3 OSV's contracted to the drilling operation. 2 of the 3 OSV's are en-route to the rig from the supply base in T&T. The 3rd OSV is anchored off T&T. Suggesting perhaps that rig is all alone as I write this. If thats the case (and that may not be the case!) the rig may not be spinning the drill bit at this moment in time. Just thinking aloud. Anyone been following this closer?

Repsol is joined on the Kanuku block by French supermajor Total, each with 37.5%, and Anglo-Irish independent Tullow Oil, which is on 25%.

Think they are the wrong Tullow 37.5%
