G and R research. Interesting how the media and pundits are busy denigrating demand and pumping concept of supply. Perfect for a US election eh?
Cheap gasoline. Pumped up US economy. Not possible that’s why Trump is prolonging the trade war is it? Nah.. he wouldn’t do anything like that...would he....

Toon. Curious. I never mentioned any views on Scottish nor English politics. Stuff read in that I never said. Best all left I feel. That’s why I said hostory now. Maybe this can be the last of it. Who cares what I think about politics or the moon landing anyway? Just a chat board.
MT . Your views on the present oil sector are echoed in a great November analysis by Goehring and Rosenzweig. I tecommend a read.

Catching the bottom or top consistently is impossible - as Warren Buffet memorably said "The market timer's Hall of Fame has got no one in it".

You can only buy value and wait for an improvement in sector sentiment to kick start market greed into rearing its ugly head.

Spotting value in long term highly cyclical markets like the oil, copper and shipping markets is not too difficult - a look at the 20 year chart reveals all three bottomed in 1999/2000, then peaked together in 2008/9, and bottomed again together in H1/2016.

As a consequence, I don't believe I got 'lucky' with four out of the five oilers I've bought(prior to re-entering TRIN) since the 2016 oil market cycle bottom, subsequently never again falling below my average price.

Largely because in common with the rest of the oil sector these leaned down 'survivors' were all sitting at ultra low valuations, following a brutal 7 year oil market cycle decline/recession stage which saw the oil price drop 70% peak to trough.

Since 2002, according to the Scottish Governments own figures:

Scottish Exports to the UK are up by a whopping £20bn to £50bn a year while,
Scottish Exports to the EU are up by a minuscule £2.5bn to £12.5bn annually, an average of just £0.4bn per EU Nation!

So the UK market is worth more than 100 times each EU Nation's market on average!

How by any objective analysis has the EU been good for Scotland, when its main export market has been powering away like a Saturn 5 rocket, yet the SNP's beloved EU single market of a massive 27 Nations, has proved of very little value to the Scottish economy for decades?

The question must be asked - Is the EU single market all its cracked up to be for Scotland's economy? It is according to the self serving, SNP grievance junkies! But, as is usually the case where the nauseatingly hypocritical SNP is concerned, the evidence strongly suggests otherwise!

And the savvy Scottish electorate, who probably know the value of a fiver better than any Nation alive, are getting wise to the frankly laughable SNP Independence propaganda crudely masquerading as a Plan for Scotland (for the SNP more like !).

If you value your health, wealth and liberty - ignore these disingenuous grievance junkies at your peril !

No cents I don't agree with you but you have every right to say what you say, I also believe if the Scots get another referendum I want the English to have a vote! I would certainly vote for them to get independence we wouldn't have to subsidise them at the expense of the english, we can move Faslane and Rosyth into England the Clyde would probably close and how many companies would head over border oh yes please let them get independence. observing this BB degradation I remember times of 2 p trin - cca 5 of us posting mark,me,odvod and 2 others (ross??) and hoping (gambling)??

sold towards 20p

a few more weeks and I might start buying again. imho it is too soon now - as down pressure still persist. why not wait for a momentuum confirmation. Investing for a long time I became humble enough not to trust my believes any more and I wait for the events to realize before I get involved. No more sure prediction, value certainty etc from myself.

I must add that I downgraded management a little bit. After they came on board I rated them highly. Not any more

Ouch! Oh dear. I really have been seriously misunderstood. Pavey Ark ..if you don’t like this bulletin board-as you say-then don’t read it. Like you said you would not do a month ago. Everyone is entitled to disagree with me ( filter me even?)as I suggested.
Can of worms opens when I supported the expansion of the humanitarian GDP paradigm. I supported what Sturgeon amd the others said.No more than that.I know little of Scottish politics nor do I wish to. I know little about Sturgeon ...far less than you guys....but I can still agree with one thing she says !!! Anyway...even if I was a Sturgeon supporter..so what? Let me be one. If I supported Corbyn or Boris ( I struggle to support either) then let me. Therein is the main point.
I absolutely by the way was not promoting Sturgeon nor any other politician. I was promoting an easing of austerity and the failure of ALL rigid doctrines. Absolutely all rigid doctrines are doomed to failure but the babies must not go out in the bathwater.Even capitalism -which is always evolving and is the best of all possible evils- is imperfect. It can’t be anything else.
I will henceforth no longer mention political theory. I was really actually trying to relate the paradigm shift from austerity to the GDP metrics employed in Nordic countries as the article described.I have admiration for some aspects of their governments’ ethes ( plural of ethos). I was amused by the powt’s prostitute comment and saddened by the very high use of anti-depressants( as in the UK btw).I was not for a moment supporting Mrs. Sturgeon as a politician nor person ( just resonating woth the GDP commentary).
Oh the joy of conflict ( a normality).
Others bring in other topics. So I randomly did. A healthy BB(?)
Now it’s history.

Well nocents I think we will have to disagree on the Nicola Sturgeon issue as with any of the other lefty PC psuedo self proclaimed elite. We were left in the biggest mess since the war by the last Socialist government and have spent (all of us) the last decade paying for it which is why "austerity" was forced on us. Now we are able to loosen the reigns we have a Marxist mob ready to mess it all up again. I do care about my fellow man and woman but those that expect a free ride through life will get no help from me unless its taken from me against my will by the likes of Corbyn and his Momentum hit squad. Rant over and lets get back to seeing TRIN being pulvarised again.

Following Donald Trump's presidential election win, SNP voters naively comforted themselves that with FM Nicola Sturgeon and her 6 inch stripper heels at the helm, they had a politician able to put her legendary ability to shape events for Scotland(SNP) on the global stage to good effect.

Oval Office phone rings shortly after Trump takes office:

"Mr President i have some scatty broad on the line from Scotland, goes by the name of Sturgeon, says she knows you and wants a word."

"Sturgeon?????"

" Yessssss, you know, Eck the Shrek's gobby little sidekick that tried to put the kibosh on your Hotel and Golf Course project in Scotland, and said all those terrible things about your suitability to be President"

"Ah yessssss, now i remember, the two stroppy Holyrood parish councillors that gave me nothing but grief with my planning application"

"Tell her i'm simply far too busy these days running the most powerful Nation on Earth to speak to mere parish councillors. My new EU ambassador, Mr Brexit Nigel Farage, said if it's really important she should route her correspondence through that classy May broad in London, who now runs the show in the UK.

"Of course Mr President, good to have such eloquent diplomacy back in the White House!"

Nicola Sturgeon would be right at home on this thread......make of that what you will.

Sturgeon would not recognise the truth if bit her on the backside and it is very annoying to see people take up her carefully prepared sound bites and take them at face value.
It is very expensive to provide the same level of health care in a country that has 8% of the population and 40% of the landmass so the uk transfers money to Scotland to make up the difference....fiscal transfer.
This transfer is not a subsidy as the Scottish taxpayer contributes as much per head as most of England.
Let's see Sturgeon provide the same services without this pooling of resources

Sturgeon lied (blatantly) in the Andrew Neil interview and got away with it (no fault of Andrew Neil who simply said she was wrong but had to move on)....silence from the UK media.

Blackford lied outrageously on channel 4 and their so called fact checkers didn't get him for it.

This happens repeatedly and the UK media simply don't care enough to spend the time researching before the SNP (PR..propaganda)machine rolls over them.

Anyway you get my drift and please spare me from your gullible take on this rather polished operator.

MM..thanks. I resonate with Nicola Sturgeon and ( sensible ) others. What use high efficiency ( health/education/employment) where humanity is lost? The austerity paradigm has run its course. The State has a duty to promote genuine individual well-being and multiple choices and opportunities. Sadly our own govt. turns its face fully away from that duty. Laissez-faire at its worst. I left the Party because of its culture of money -fuelled arrogance and ignorance. Mogg/Gove etc. leave me astounded.Sadly I don’t really know whether Corbyn is trustworthy as he evades detailed answers as only a politician does. Yet again it’s all up to the swing-seats I guess. But I can no longer support the austerity and laissez-faire paradigm. As the news story says....governments have a greater duty. This one leaves me as cold as its modus operandi leaves our society.( and financial system) The LSE is corrupt because the FCA is toothless and the govt. earns much money from it...hence why control it? The govt.’s obsession with spending creates an Orwellian Mandarin contril-society where postmen and delivery drivers wear satellite trackers and teachers have cctv and doctors 8 minutes per patient. Yes MM..the promotion of joy should be a compnent of the paradigm and is sadly lost on the Mandarins ( I have met them!). Nuff said. Sorry to those who don’t agree or don’t like off-track posts.
Regarding Trin....
Patience?
Those who can afford to should bottom-draw Trin and wake up ( like WBuffet said) in 2 years.
