07/4/2016 08:56 | Thanks for those remarks, LM. I might experiment more with weekly charts and see what they do for me. There are a few shares popping their corks atm, like MAB1. | jon l
06/4/2016 08:43 | Hi LM. Thanks for posting your chart. Can I ask you a technical question? I'm curious at your use of weekly instead of daily periods and what the momentum measures say from that. Your TSI with 25 weekly periods is 6 months, very different to the usual TSI at 25 days. Here for comparison is the daily chart with both the TSI, and my favourite medium term momentum measure which is the 3-month ROC. Both show the bottoming out from January's drop at precisely the same time - end of January - the ROC by crossing the downtrend line, the TSI by turning upwards from its big drop. Both said the panic was over, safe to buy back in, etc. And usefully earlier than the weekly chart which shows bottoming out at the end of March. So I'm wondering what is the advantage of the weekly chart? Always hoping to learn new tricks. free stock charts from au.advfn.com | jon l
05/4/2016 22:44 | In case your wondering whats going on here technically - its called 'hidden bullish divergence (dvg)' Regular turn dvg has lower lows on the price trend - but rising lows on the momentum/RSI indicating the trend has run out of steam & about to turn. Hidden bullish dvg is the other way round - rising price lows & lower lows on the momentum. This is basically like pulling back the elastic on a catapult - the fun bit is when it lets go - ping! free stock charts from uk.advfn.com | luckymouse
05/4/2016 21:10 | Mike here's my latest idea that correlates directly with what you have been saying all along. BT Fleet launches telematics service "The company uses a white label telematics system from an undisclosed partner." In September BT fleet and AA sign major extension of deal. 3 months later AA signs major extension with TRAK to handle their B2B customer fleets like BT Fleet. This month BT Fleet launches their own telematics service but they will use white labelling so someone else will create software and hardware and they will just brand it. Chances are this is TRAK since AA is already using our software and BT Fleet can directly benefit from partnership with both. Then we have AA signing a new deal with Lex Autolease, UK's biggest fleet. Also a huge B2B customer of AA which falls directly into TRAK's new Business Unit jurisdiction. If we book either one of those as a contract it's a huge game changer and the share price could double or triple from here. Perhaps that explains why someone has been filling their boots past few weeks driving the share price up. I'm very long and biased, everyone DYOR but to me this looks about to jump back to 4£ in no time. If a contract with one of these B2B giants is confirmed TRAK will be a completely different company by this time next year. | blondeamon
03/4/2016 14:19 | Direct Line career section: Telematics Pricing Manager Demand must be growing as this role is to lead a team for telematics. They are adding around 3000 policies per month for us, that's a lot of ££ in subscriptions for TRAK. | blondeamon
03/4/2016 10:46 | Direct Line doing very well in selling their telematics policies. Not only they doubled it in one year but since they are early adopters they are getting all the spotlight too. They've recently launched a new ad to attract the 'youtube generation' young drivers, starring Alfie Deyes who is apparently someone youngsters follow: 442,000 views already | blondeamon

01/4/2016 12:34 | If we can nudge a bit higher and hold it we might break out of this range that has bound us all year... | davr0s
29/3/2016 15:42 | And another contract won by RouteMonkey, this time for Global Service Group and also through them extended to the NHS. | blondeamon
26/3/2016 17:09 | Seeing as it is completely UK oriented right now it shouldn't have a huge impact other than the signs of a weaker economy and perhaps less contracts down the road as companies are more tight with cash. Contracts might also expire without renewal. On the other hand, on the insurance sector more and more people might scramble to save money by using telematics to save ££. If we had more International Sales it would be better so as to convert $$ to ££ would stabilise any losses in the UK. Always good to be diversified but we are not there yet. Most companies would be better off staying IN, economic uncertainty is the killer of investments. | blondeamon
26/3/2016 15:16 | Yes news of the American contract was released sometime ago -and I suspect, knowing the conservative approach of the BOD- understated. It also got a mention during the CEO interview on quality small caps. This is priced very cheaply at the moment but I think that's more down to broader economic conditions and concerns than anything else ..oh and of course the TW debacle. I suspect April's results will clear up any doubt the market has about this share. Anyone got any thoughts about the possible impact of a brexit on TRAK? | knowbodyyouno
25/3/2016 21:19 | Thanks Nurdin, I had completely missed that. So since those exceptional half year results in November where share price was at 400p we have: - AA expansion - RouteMonkey acquisition -- RouteMonkey extension of Iceland foods contract for 3 years -- New contract with Avanti Gas - New US contract for 25,000 devices in next 2 years (that's a +20% on existing devices from one contract alone!!) - DL doubling telematics devices with us in past year - Marmalade seeing exceptional growth - CEO saying H2 will be substantially better than H1 And share price today is at 250p, 35% below the recent highs. Oh boy Mr Market has got this wrong, there'll be a stampeded in April when this publishes the update. | blondeamon

25/3/2016 13:41 | Why didn't this show up in ADVFN RNS? Mike have you seen this before? 25/3/2016 08:36 | Our brand camera, RoadHawk, now sold through one of our long term clients who had been using it for years: Euro Car Parts. "Car parts distributor Euro Car Parts now stocks the same professional standard RoadHawk dashboard cameras it uses on its own fleet of delivery vehicles. The RoadHawk RH-2 TEDR Driver Twin Camera System has both front and rear facing cameras, delivering 310-degree surveillance. Designed in the UK, key features include: 1.3 megapixel 140-degree and 170-degree lenses, high quality 640 x 480 resolution playback, an internal microphone (which can be disabled using the software), and an internal GPS antenna. The inward facing camera has infrared to record clear images at night. As well as Euro Car Parts, which makes 100 deliveries a minute to UK garages, RoadHawk cameras are also used by leading fleet operators and courier companies. John Watkins, executive chairman of Trakm8’s RoadHawk brand, said: “We have worked in partnership with Euro Car Parts for many years now with much success. It is highly flattering that, having seen the impact that RoadHawk cameras can have on their own drivers and insurance claims, the company feel that these benefits can now be passed onto their customers. We look forward to working alongside Euro Car Parts for many years to come.” Bill Stimson, trade sales & marketing director at Euro Car Parts, said: “We’ve been using RoadHawk dash cams on our vans since 2012, so we’re delighted to offer them to the public. They were recommended to us by our insurance company and the benefits have been huge. Our number of fault accidents has plummeted by around 20 per cent since 2012 and the cameras have played an important role in that, along with other initiatives. The very presence of the camera makes the driver feel like their driving is being assessed, so they up their game. There have also been occasions when video footage has been vital in 50/50 ‘their word against ours’ accidents, particularly regarding personal injury claims. Dash cams are essential for fleets and ever more motorists are getting wise to the benefits, so this is definitely a growing market." | blondeamon
22/3/2016 13:44 | Have you guys noticed this? "Route Monkey, which was recently acquired by big data and telematics company, Trakm8, currently supplies Iceland with optimisation and routing algorithms however Trakm8 have announced today that the Livingston-based company will now extend its original deal with Iceland until 2019 with significant revenues forecasted over the contract’s lifetime." That's written by TRAKM8 itself on the company blog. | blondeamon |
