I assume you have taken this up with TRAK direct GWR7?

This is one to be very wary of. When Direct Line told me of the problems they were experiencing with hardware and software related to plug-in devices supplied by Trakm8, management didn't say a word about it to investors. Next time there's a bombshell maybe they won't be able to keep it quiet.

Agreed ... the road to heaven (and riches) is paved with good intentions ... we shall have to wait for a trading update to confirm what has actually taken place.

Looks like April's statement is going to be an interesting one!

Agree with you that the intention is there indeed, but not the confirmation that there are any such clients right now that will buy through AA our products.

If that were to start happening and these fees start flowing then it would be incredibly good but right now it's just a company strategy to enter that market.

Very optimistic that they have a new division and their best guy to run it but I'd say now is the time for their Sales department to start pitching to the AA customers. Evidence of such contracts would be really game-changing but too early to call.

If I understand this correctly we're providing white labelling products, they have the AA stamp on them but we provide them.

But they did actually say that ... its just that we missed it in all the details and noise ... here in the Dec 14 RNS ...

"It has now worked with the AA to develop a new business-to-business fleet management system. The new product will be offered to the AA's business-to-business customers, enabling them to help manage both the cost and logistics of running their fleets. The solution is expected to be attractive to large fleet operators as well as SMEs running fleets of five or more vehicles."

Plus Trakm8 set up a new division to handle this ... if it was just an extension to the normal AA contract for their own AA-fleet they might have put an account manager or account desk in place, but it wouldn't have warranted a whole division headed by your best sales guy.

I think they've actually spelt it out, it's just that the recent market has lost the thread when it comes to the details and are deflating what chart gazers are calling a bubble rather than inflating for a coming period of growth.

As you say, year end at the end of March and probably a management statement mid-late April. At this stage I would expect (hope) that they meet the forecasts -- I don't expect to see a surge in profit/cash from either the AA business or the RouteMonkey acquisition, but an indication that things were going to plan in those departments would be good.

Hi Mike

This an interesting train of thought but why wouldn't they have announced exactly that if that was the case? I mean, they revealed 90% of what you said but not any clues to whether they will partner with AA to extend services to their clients.

That indeed would be a game changer but it's not confirmed, just a guess. I hold here and happilly added both times it dived and will add more if it goes too 200p again but I also want to be realistic.

Results not so far away now and with general market iffy I think this is a playground for the MMs as it's a bit illiquid.

Fundamentals still sound and RouteMonkey IMO is indeed a strategic acquisition as it introduces an element that makes their product a lot more attractive and complete as a solution to the end customer.

I posted this elsewhere ... but thought some here might like to see it too ...

I've been thinking through the sequence of events last autumn again. In rough outline I think this is what happened ...

Trakm8 has had the AA as one of its customers for some time ... the AA have been happy with what they've had and the results that they've seen from their own fleet management. The AA have a lot of SME type fleet clients ... companies with 5-50 vehicles. Too small for independent monitoring/planning and yet big enough to buy in the right management service for a reasonable price.

So the AA discusses with Trakm8 the idea of working together to offer a client service, possibly with the AA brand behind it, possibly as a recommendation or partner type offerring ... we see a RNS about the changing relationship with the AA.

Trakm8 see the size of the deal and its potential -- they are into recurrent, monthly cash flow type business and this is ideal ... its a ready made access to customers that are big enough to be of interest and too small for them to make sense of going it alone. They form a new division to handle the interface to the AA and its flow of contacts/enquiries. We see an RNS to that effect.

Trakm8 take their most experienced sales director and put him in charge of the new division. This shows the significance of the new dvision to the future plans. Remember Trakm8 is going for recurrent income streams ... each SME signed up produces a nice gross cash income with very little marginal cost ... and that cash income continues forward through time. Again we see an RNS telling us what is happening.

At the close of the year Trakm8 further extend their capability in this market place by acquiring route planning and scheduling technology. This is the missing link in the chain for the SME market ... with RouteMonkey's know how integrated into Trakm8's monitoring and camera systems the potential for a one box solution for the SME is there and the marginal cost of this to end users could be small giving Trak a competitive advantage and encouraging take up of the offerring.

In addition RouteMonkey has its own customer base and sales leads that can be brought into the Trakm8 stable.

Overall ... this is a major game changer for Trakm8 ... in the time scale of 12-18 months the right price for this share is about £4, once you wind the clock forward and factor in the growth potential of the following 12-18 months.

Got a reply from John Watkins today, cool guy. He said they are not looking at Switzerland right now but more or less it's companies like that that's on their radar and will keep it in mind.

Always a healthy sign when management listens to PIs and takes time to reply.

Thanks Lauders, yes both really good companies in that sector, quite hot right now.

I was reading this earlier:

Telematics can already save huge ££ if used properly like in the example above.

I sent an email to the TRAK CEO this morning for a very interesting contract opportunity in Switzerland, hope he replies back to me.

Thank you for that blondeamon! As you say "very bullish". I was also surprised to hear NCC Group being mentioned, another of my holdings! If the share-price remains slightly subdued for the next couple of weeks I might top-up around these levels (lower?) if I get a chance based on that piece ;-)

The share price is easily manipulated. The rise of over a pound a share in the month ahead of the 333p placing was suspicious. This company has a long history of failure to deliver in real terms.

Nice to see calm restored here - both in terms of the share price and the BB. Now we can get on with watching the growth unfold. There's a good story here - glad to be a small part of it.
