I keep getting replies to the effect I'm the only one who experienced problems. That's not what Direct Line told me. The problem they had was that they had no means of identifying failures and they were relying on customers to notify them, though such notification was not incumbent on customers in the terms and conditions of use. I can't confirm the scale of the problem or if it is ongoing, but as trakm8 weren't able to identify that my plug-in had failed, the point I'm making is neither can they.

I certainly hope so blondeamon! Been nothing but a disappointment since I bought in so hope your "faith" and research prove well founded. Good luck. Still hanging on but considering ditching for GLEN or some other commodity related company while the going is good. It will definitely go up then so perhaps shareholders here can join togther and fund my departure LOL! ;-)

Topped up again today, my biggest holding now. Market has really not priced in any of the good news here, everyone is chasing miners.

Let's see where we are in a month's time when results are out and everyone will want back in.

From DLG's full-year results this morning:-

"The Group continues to build on its current strong market positions by identifying and investing in market developments that it believes can contribute to future growth. In particular, the Group has continued to grow its telematics-based motor insurance in-force policies, with a doubling of in-force policies in the year to 78,000. This growth has been achieved with the help of wider market appreciation of the benefits of telematics for younger drivers, recognition of the Group's straightforward self-install proposition and improved distribution through PCWs. Retention has proved strong amongst better drivers. Furthermore, the Group has launched an app-based over 25s offering and has supported a major motor manufacturer by using telematics as a key part of a new car customer proposition."

Well done Trakm8. Doubled the policies to 78,000 which is great and I wonder who the major motor manufacturer is?

Great results from Quartix today, one of the other players in UK telematics. Should bode well for TRAK but instead share price falls...go figure. And especially in very thin volume.

Results soon here and once the upwards trajectory in revenues/profits is verified, the share price will go back to previous highs and above IMO.

Quality board, quality company.

Nearly 40% of UK businesses use telematics

hxxp://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/fleet-industry-news/2016/02/26/nearly-40-of-uk-businesses-using-telematics

Huge market to cap into, means 60% are free for grabs. Big margins there and with the market growing 20% every year the potential is really big.

This is all very well but the issue you describe is now very old. If the data produced by TRAK was consistently rubbish then Direct Line would have dropped them very quickly.
Are you really saying that you think a significant proportion of the units dont work properly?
Are you saying that the data, which is the whole point of the telematics offering to the insurance market is duff?
If so, then there would be countless incidents of accidents happening where the telematics thought the car was 'on an industrial estate'. There would be countless other incidents where Direct Line would be unable to correctly insure their clients and it would be their responsibility.

Dont you think if this was the case then they would have possibly noticed something?

Do you really think that Direct Line are that stupid?

If you actually have any new evidence of these issues then fine.

If not, do you really think we are that stupid?

So 1 faulty device and the company isn't going to do well?

You keep repeating the same paragraph about it being one to avoid based on a single hardware failure, when in all honesty its irrelevant.

I'm sure Apple have Iphone failures, HP have Server failures, and Microsoft have Software bugs, its by the by with hardware companies and doesn't affect their ability to do business and make money and further more they don't inform investors when 1 unit is reported faulty.

Im sure The AA wouldn't have renewed their contract with TrakM8 if they were having constant hardware and software failures.

With respect, you don't appear to know what you're talking about. Have you ever had one of the devices? Of course data is fed back to the customer, and furthermore it's designed to affect the customer directly through the pocket by feeding into policy pricing (or is supposed to if anyone bothers to analyse it - Direct Line didn't have a clue my device had stopped transmitting for example). According to the plug-in, my car was parked on an industrial estate on the outskirts of a city 20 miles away for months. Hence my call to Direct Line and according to them there was a known problem due to hardware and software issues. I was sent, and installed, a replacement but I didn't bother checking if it worked as accessing the information was tedious. If they weren't bothered then I certainly wasn't. I didn't renew it. Who wants Big Brother watching them if he's collecting dud information? So far as I know the problems related by Direct Line were not relayed to shareholders.

When Direct Line told you.....really?

So you rang them up and the customer services rep told you about software issues that, as a direct line customer wouldn't affect you in anyway shape or form, as the data the software generates given isn't given back to you the driver...try harder mate, your de-ramping is pitiful at best....embarrassing at worst.

If what you say is true -and I have my doubts, personally - particularly since this is a repeat of a post you made some time ago- Trakm8 have absolutely no obligation to update investors about issues relating to their software or indeed hardware. If such we the case the RNS feed would be constantly bombarded with updates from tech firms, as such problems are part-and-parcel of highly complex and technical devices - hence the need for ongoing support from the firm. Taking you at your word, however, it seems the matter is long resolved, as it's 2 years since the DL contract became operational.

Things are progressing nicely here. The growth story is well on trak (pun intended).

This is one to be very wary of. When Direct Line told me of the problems they were experiencing with hardware and software related to plug-in devices supplied by Trakm8, management didn't say a word about it to investors. Next time there's a bombshell maybe they won't be able to keep it quiet.

A regulatory body insisting that a HGV vehicle (or white van for that matter) be fitted with a telematics device is probably not going to happen here in the UK for a very long time ... but a slightly lesser requirement of requiring all HGVs to be fitted with a black box is quite likely.

From a minimal Black Box recorder which has no pay back other than regulatory approval to a telematics device providing positive cost benefits is a small step though and one that many fleet operatives would take in preference.
