...yes..some sellers...(but more buyers)...the selling surprises me considering that the rescue cash raise looks assured & gets voted on 24th Dec....& accounts suddenly look more solid... & imo makes the risk/reward look a lot better..

.before the news of the cash raise it didnt look pretty...& hence the 16p price 'then'

Without more positive news, I doubt it will head north too quickly.
Still plenty of sellers out there it seems.

Well Tony, 200% is closer than the 400% you mentioned a couple of weeks back - so heading in the right direction.

...the old risk-reward dilema

imo if one waits to see more 'meat on the bones' (visibility of improvement in trading/cashflow etc) you might be paying 30-40p at that time..imo

TRAK only generated cash last year due to a tax rebate IIRC. Still, i'll grant you one thing the new shareholder looks interesting and the fact they were willing to pay a premium to rescue TRAK suggests things may improve for them. I'd still want to see some meat on the bones before i'd consider buying though.

Avesco was loss making when I bought in and at a nadir. Trak's record has been bumpy (so was Avesco's if you study it's history), but I suspect Trak has hit it's nadir now and has a real chance to come out much stronger. It doesn't lose huge amounts of money, and has indeed generated cash in the past albeit inconsistently in recent times. It generated free cash as recently as last year. Clearly the share price wouldn't be down here if they were more consistent. That's the opportunity if you believe that they can be consistent going forward. With recurring revenues increasing and already above £10m the odds in their favour are pretty good I'd say.

Except that TRAK isn't a quality company like Avesco was, it generates no cash and loses huge amounts of money.

re: my post 3381 if you have time then take a quick look at the AVS/Taya story and note the parallels (from post 61 onwards):-

It's an interesting scenario with Microlise. They were clearly prepared to take a 20% stake in Trakm8 at a premium (22p) so they've had a chance to pick up even more below 22p and clear any overhang. I wonder if they've done this and will indeed attempt to push up to 29.9%?

If so, it would be excellent for all shareholders. It would be a very similar situation to Avesco and Taya. AVS fell to a similar market. cap. (ironically a similar share price as well ) and Taya built up a 29.9% stake. From memory the CEO of Taya also joined the board of AVS.

In short, Taya did make an opportunistic bid that was rightly rejected, but they also kept a watchful eye on AVS to ensure they made good progress. The rest is history since AVS eventually excelled and a few years later were bought out for £6.50 (not be Taya).

I wonder if history will repeat itself (for me) here?

HE, how many years are you going back? The placing before this little lot was little more than 12 months ago and at multiples of the latest 22p. That's no 15 bagger is it? You have a point about the Microlise HGV's ... at what cost? Yet another screw on margins like the great white knight that was supposed to be the AA?

There is no escaping the fact the last 2 placing have needed to BOD to put their hands in their own pockets because the support outside the BOD just isn't there, and will remain the case until the company deliver free cash and stop cooking the numbers to fool the unsophisticated investors.

Yes, now crept just above the placing price. Early days but promising. It does look like a good tie up with Microlise.

Looks like overhang has cleared now. Not much loose stock around. Hopefully we start to get a flurry of good news in the new year and start to look forward.

Oh dear knowbodyyouno, i don't think anyone on here has revelled in your misfortune. I know I certainly haven't. In another post you accused me of being condescending and gloating. To be honest, you sound like a first class plank.

There's certainly some angry/vocal bears on here. Not sure how informed they all are, to be honest, but they're entitled to their opinion. In terms of share price trajectory, they've been right SO FAR - although, often not for the reasons they've professed.

I'm kind of a live and let live individual, but I find the reveling in people's misfortunes more than a little unpalatable.

Have a good weekend.

..yes...impressive

hopefully they can push TRAK in the right/better direction

imo they havent invested at 22p or put their CEO on the bod of TRAK in order to lose money or time !!
