Kept all contracts with big football clubs .. rumours they also kept mailing lists and forward booking details . They now start up again with new company getting most profitable part of the business free of charge ! Is this legal or is this fraud ? | aarcher63

25/9/2019 21:43 | I have noticed that some TUI holidays that uses Thomas Cook Airlines have been cancelled. | suncanaria
25/9/2019 15:05 | Ultimately the likes of Jet2 and TUI will fill the void left by TCX. Until 2017, Jet2 didn't operate any wide bodied long haul routes or use wide bodied aircraft at all, so it's probably not fair to compare them with TCX. Nevertheless Jet2 have a better business model, they take a more inclusive role in aviation safety with their industry partners and all in all are easier to deal with in that respect. When facing flight delays TCX made strange decisions which lead to knock on delays and further EU261 payments. In my opinion their operational decision making under these circumstances was baffling. They didn't move with the times at all, and they were brought down by poor management over a decade or more. Certainly since the merger with Airtours in 2007?Jet2 I believe will grow. I haven't looked at Dart but will do so. Jet2 will operate long (well longer) haul to New York this winter, and next summer will continue operating the leased A330's into European holiday destinations as they have done for the last 2 years. The A330's have been absolutely fantastic for them! Rumour is they might increase the number of this type of aircraft, taking a third for summer 2020. That would be great for their customers and gives Jet2 further operating options! The demise of TCX will be to the benefit of smarter operators! TCX wasn't one! | npp62

25/9/2019 08:59 | If a 49% subsidiary can make a profit then the management at TC must have been incompetent. The article says that Condor had more passengers - so not just a niche player. Will there be a meaningful investigation into the management of TC ? Will there be any sanctions ? | fenners66

24/9/2019 19:15 | If you want to recoup all your loses. Double up on Dart Group, Jet2's parent, that really is responsible for TCG's demise. With no high street shops and little debt it was able to undercut TCG at will. w1 | woozle1
