Stop charging nightly finance. That is disgusting.

There is technically no rollover to finance.

They've been charging you an overnight rate since late September?
Yes. It looks like it at least.

That's pretty disgraceful in itself.
I'm inclined to agree. I'm going to look into this further. It's not clear from the information online what positions IG's is taking fees against. Nor can I see how much margin they are currently holding against my TCG short. Cheers nigelpm

IG say:

"At 3pm (UK time) on Friday 22 November, we will be changing the valuation on Thomas Cook Group PLC to zero. This is to reflect an action taken by our broker, based on independent advice.

This means you will no longer be charged overnight funding on your position.

However as a result of this, the loss against any long positions on your account will increase. To avoid other positions being closed or your account running into a debit balance, you may need to fund your account."

but not that we are being closed????

Cheers Jaknife.

I must admit that I've been disappointed and surprised by IG .
No communication with clients at all on this - although they were very quick to increase margin on held position to 100%.
So lot's of cash tied up here.

They keep saying that they have to wait for their Broker to confirm liquidation and that they have no news yet.

Mark Kleinman reporting that Fosun are getting the Thomas Cook brand "and associated intellectual property" for £11m.

Maybe IG will pay next week?

Still no commitment from IG.
Can't say I'm impressed !

IG usually wait for the liquidators report. With the sale today of the brand to Club Med there must be very few assets left to dispose of. Mid November I would think.

Cheers Mal. Must say, from what I've managed to get to read this evening it does look like a little gem. Share your views on the upside. Can't find any way to get leverage on it so might pick up a bit this week in the HL account and keep it in the sensible stable. Hate buying at highs though! :)In my CMC and Saxo accounts, currently long Silver spot at 17.98 (poor entry - caught out by the false dawn - but comforted by strong buying at dips and Fed speak) and going to open a short on SLA tomorrow. Rubbish fund business, leadership issues and scary dividend cover, plus the charts look ripe for a dive. Was long Metro too at 188 but wanted the free money for SLA so closed this affy. May revisit that in due course

Cracking trade that fellas! One of them a quarter would do me nicely. Horrible for all the poor innocent sods that suffered one way or another mind!

Sutty,

It's one of my main holdings.
Have a read of the last 6 months RNS's - should give you a flavour.
Long term hold for me up to at least (£500m MC) so circa 5 times current share price
2020 should see the start of the significant rise.

You long on INL? Must admit I know nothing about it but I'm guessing you're thinking the planning application will be a good catalyst?
