04/2/2022 14:20 | From the Q4 Trading Update ;"we welcomed c.3,000 new employees across the world to the Group, the majority of whom are within the U.K." | ![]() marekq
04/2/2022 14:18 | So THGs number of staff are increasing YoY? | ![]() one_frankel
04/2/2022 14:15 | Who says they are losing staff? They are advertising for jobs, show me where there is evidence of high rotations in staff? This company is expanding, look at the sales figures, they up 25% or more every year, and that requires EXTRA STAFF! | ![]() hamhamham1
04/2/2022 14:15 | Ingenuity was supposed to be where their real potential resides Ham!...As margins are fast diminishing in their other business activities. | ![]() one_frankel
04/2/2022 14:13 | Staff retention can tell you alot about company's working environment which in turn leads to their success Bob! | ![]() one_frankel
04/2/2022 14:13 | I don't think you need a USP, you just need a market, a product and be good at attraction and fulfilment, something niche looking. There may be appealing aspects to Inginuity which retailers like, if they don't want to get hooked on and reliant on the really big ecommerce giants, with their T's and C's. It can be seen as niche and more personal. Time will tell on that. | ![]() hamhamham1
04/2/2022 14:10 | Let's be honest whatever THG do you are going to kick em. If there were no vacancies you would say. 'something is not right here, why isn't a billion-pound company hiring more staff especially they want exponential growth. They have 1000s of staff dotted all over the world, there are bound to be lots of vacancies | ![]() billionarebob
04/2/2022 14:07 | What USP does THG actually have Hamhamham1?...The only diamond in the rough was ingenuity and yet noone can really understand that's future potential because Molding is not being very forthcoming with disclosures...So there is no doubt that MMs rather unscrupulous activities are the main reasons for a serious lack of sentiment here! | ![]() one_frankel
04/2/2022 14:04 | I do agree Bldm, staff retention is definitely a contentious issue for THG which why there are so many bloody vacancies! | ![]() one_frankel
04/2/2022 14:02 | bldm - 06 Dec 2021 - 09:51:52 - 5473 of 9773 I have a fairly large position in THG - several 10's thousands at various price levels. I don't understand why people compare this to amazon. If this is like amazon, we are doomed because amazon is a greater company with 2 decades of headstart and if you want amazon, buy amazon. I'm hoping THG is something very different - the opposite of amazon actually. Something that allows to decentralise online retail. | ![]() hamhamham1
04/2/2022 13:58 | Bldm. If you do/did own tens of thousands of shares here (as you stated last year) at an average of a good few quid each, how much have you lost here to date? Just interested as you are lecturing here on how to make money here? You must be losing a few quid a share, every time you sell one? | ![]() hamhamham1
04/2/2022 12:48 | I already told you bob. You're right, I'll leave you to it. I won't chip in with my "Be careful, this has further to fall" before it falls 50%. Good luck (cause that's the only way you can ever make money). BTW, thanks for buying all those shares I was selling. | ![]() bldm
04/2/2022 12:30 | thanks bldm you spend so much of your valuable time on this THG forum, remind me again how many THG shares do have? | ![]() billionarebob
04/2/2022 12:26 | Number of vacancies is a very ambiguous indicator and you'd have to be pretty basic to judge a company on just this number. First it can be a gimmick. A far more reliable indicator would be the number of new hires or growth of the workforce. That's more of a put-your-money-where The number of vacancies tells you nothing. It definitely can be interpreted negatively. If they have a lot of vacancies, why haven't they filled them? Because one thing is certain - the business is running suboptimally if there aren't enough employees. Is it because they can't afford to pay competitive salaries? Is it because they aren't an attractive employer? Or is it that they are really growing so fast that they always have a lot of vacancies? You need a little more context than just their careers page and the number of openings there hah! Credit Suisse has many openings, doesn't make it a good business to own. | ![]() bldm
04/2/2022 12:24 | "Well, you seem to be a great fit for the company so we'd love to offer you a position. The salary will be £38,000 per annum and working hours are flexible and you can work from home if you like. The jobs come with lots of benefits like free health care, a target-related bonus, free shares and a decent pension scheme. You will find the team is very enthusiastic about mucking in!" "Thank you, that is more money than my current position and the benefits sound really good. I would like to accept your offer" Purely fictional and definitely not inspired by Glassdoor reviews and would explain why there are so many vacancies for a billion pound, global company seeking exponential growth. Jelly I hope you don't mind me putting a different spin on your post if we are doing fictional posts :) These jobs are for all over the world, New York, California, Manchester, Washington, Poland | ![]() billionarebob
04/2/2022 12:09 | "Well you seem to be a great fit for the company so we'd love to offer you a position. The salary will be £20,000 per annum and working hours are 9-6 Monday to Friday. There may be the occasional need for you to be flexible when working on particular projects but you'll find the team are all very enthusiastic about mucking in!" "No thanks. Don't want to take a massive pay cut and I would never do unpaid overtime but thanks anyway. Bye" Purely fictional and definitely not inspired by Glassdoor reviews but might explain the huge amount of vacancies some companies have. | ![]() maltajellied
04/2/2022 11:55 | Remember robots are now doing most of the packing, they don't get sick, they don't ask for pay rises, they don't ask for double time on Bank Holidays, they can do 24 hour shifts and they can work in the dark :) The jobs listed on the website are specialist vacancies for exponential growth :) | ![]() billionarebob
04/2/2022 11:39 | What about employee turnover? Although I suppose that is not a good question to ask with the Covid situation. | ![]() f56
