12/3/2008 16:56 | Sven I certainly think so : even better 'live' than on the web site! I think she's a really unique talent : best UK female sculptress since Elisabeth Frink at least IMHO. | bluebelle
12/3/2008 16:20 | Nice stuff Bluebelle, quality. sVen A couple of up an comings for those interested Robert Dunt (This ones gonna be big) Ruth Allen (architectural mixed media artist, different but she seems to sell out wherever she goes) Both will feature at the Northern Art Show I'm reliably informed. sVendo | sven2006

10/3/2008 10:16 | Quite agree. Buy what you like to look at : investment considerations are secondary. Having said that, it's nice when the price goes up as well ! My best buys from all points of view have been Emma Rodgers pieces. I bought the first one knowing nothing about her and have since bought several more : her style really appeals to me. She's a unique talent who has recently had one-woman shows in Chicago and New York and is, I think, destined for great things. Prices have gone up quite a bit in the last year, but you can still pick up some of her smaller pieces for a few hundred pounds : there's not much of a secondary market at the moment simply because no-one is selling ! | bluebelle

28/2/2008 10:28 | There are several companies on AIM and in the wider market that are seemingly too cheap, but where a dominant shareholder has so much power that investors are suspicious. Sports Direct, an example, but Record - a new addition to the main market is similar - too cheap, but Chairman holds 60+% I think. Artisan could quite easily pay the Chairman a huge bonus and/or pension contribution and there's not much we could do about it. | kangaroo joe

20/2/2008 11:45 | What's Stephen Dean up to these days? He's never lost on a deal, as far as I can make out. | handycam
20/2/2008 09:37 | Jane Skingley is very up and coming and in demand at the moment. If not look at Mike Bell, Robert Dunt could end up quite large too. | little minx

07/2/2008 19:14 | Could be an expression of risk, and a reflection of how few brokers there are interested in this equity prallum. If I remember right, the board once made a point of highlighting the lack of activity regarding dealer/brokers. Got the feeling Artisan were blaming them for poor promotion, coverage, and price. The wider the spread, the more control there is for the broker/dealers. I take the view that to make money from this share, you need to be very close to info coming from the coal face of Artisan....ive given up considering what the official releases say, because as we all know, the fundamentals are not, and hav'nt been for years, reflected in the share price. Your right prallum, its a disincentive...becau | whyohwhy
07/2/2008 16:58 | Could someone explain why the bid offer prices are so far apart. The current spread is a big disincentive to buyers. | prallum |
