15/1/2008 12:45 | Funny world but always remember to buy what you like and if it goes up in value added bonus Some simply fly up in value like shares though - but remember you have to live with it not like a share certificate you can use as toilet roll! | little minx
15/1/2008 12:42 | I got a Todd White a couple of years back its only a signed print but last year he was selected as the official grammy artist = like his stuff a lot, and think its probably gone up quite a bit. Also bought quite a lot of another artist was paying her to paint for me worked out at about 75 each painting, recently an art dealer offered me 300 + for one of them. Will try and find some links or any info on the net i can later on - she has only done about 20 paintings so far but dont think she has a very good promoter. Will try and post a link when i get time. | pepi moon

21/12/2007 13:00 | Bonnard, Frost and Bellany I know well, worth keeping, so too are artists like the following,..... Fred Yates Joan Gillchrest up and coming artists starting to make it big are Simeon Stafford (Lowry was friend of the family) | sven2006

19/12/2007 09:49 | The dividend payment date was 30th November and I received the dividend via Barclays Stockbrokers into my bank account on 6th December. | iroll
19/12/2007 09:28 | shawzie I have been told by Selftrade that they have not yet received the dividend from ART. | prallum
18/12/2007 21:28 | prallum - good question. I have not yet received dividend payments, although I have been told by the Registrars that payments have been made. | shawzie

13/12/2007 13:43 | It's strong enough to pay a dividend - can't see it folding any time soon. | jfishy
11/12/2007 11:28 | Got a strong feeling the housing downturn is going to finally put paid to Artisan. Good riddance | doshdabbler
07/12/2007 23:22 | ....and no bounce! So what other necessarily proven distractions are lurking in the backroom, busy wasting those funds? Same ole same ole Artisan. | whyohwhy
28/11/2007 21:51 | wait for the body to hit the earth first. going into a stock that looks as if it is in freefall is dangerous. in these markets it is probably best left for now as apart from being oversold there is nothing to push the price up. | bobdown2
28/11/2007 13:00 | Will be looking to get back in, in the near future. | gjabrj
27/11/2007 16:16 | Possibility of fresh litigation is a distraction, but not a disaster. Provision for professional fees might be made in the half-year accounts and it would show confidence in the Company if an interim dividend was paid. With current share price discount to nav of about 50%, Artisan is a clear buy, although the share price could have further to fall in the short term. | shawzie
21/11/2007 12:31 | Dumped painting sells for $1m A painting found lying in a pile of rubbish on a New York City street has sold at auction for more than £500,000. The 1970 painting Tres Personajes by Mexican artist Rufino Tamayo was stolen 20 years ago from a warehouse, reports the BBC. It was found by Elizabeth Gibson as she took her morning walk four years ago on Manhattan's Upper West Side. After discovering the painting's value, she returned it to its original owner. It sold for $1,049,000 (£507,900) to a telephone bidder at Sotheby's New York auction house. Elizabeth Gibson said she was drawn to the painting when she spotted it on the street. "I know nothing of modern art but it didn't seem right for any piece of art to be discarded like that," she said. It hung on a wall in her home for several months before a friend suggested it might be valuable. An internet search revealed that the missing painting had been the subject of an appeal for information on the Antiques Roadshow TV programme. Ms Gibson has already received a $15,000 reward the couple put up when it was stolen, plus an undisclosed percentage of the sale of the painting. | waldron
19/11/2007 15:12 | I sold out at £1-62 and realistically thought the descision was a mistake but I needed to raise some money - I had £13,000 here. I do not understand the selloff but have to agree that Aim is becoming very dangerous and I would not reinvest in any Aim stocks again. Sadly I still have a couple and they are just as sick as Art and no divvy! Keep smiling this one will come back. | stud-muffin |
