Problem with that is what you get with one hand they take back with the other, so my interest will be the run up to the ex dividend date.

Hopefully this will ride back up to 2 quid. More likely to trade it from now on. The big gains have been had imo.

"Finally, traders were left stumped by a move lower in housebuilding stocks, with Barratt Developments (LSE: BDEV.L - news) becoming the biggest FTSE 100 faller, down 24p, or 3.8pc, to 610p. Some suggested investors were exploring other sectors, while others pointed to profit taking, as some of the stocks are among the best performers so far this year - with Taylor Wimpey (LSE: TW.L - news) up 40pc and Barratt Developments making gains of 34pc since January."

Problem.is we are in the midst of a massive speculative bubble in property....investors are starting to realise it's unsustainable...there is not a shortage of property.it's just in the
Wrong hands....beware all the bull.spin was said in U.S. Ireland dubai Japan...before their bubbles burst and reality set in as demand fell off a cliff.

Unexpected inflation results this morning. With a pullback in inflation, any prospect of an interest rate rise in the near future has vanished. This can only be good news for housebuilders.

jamieaj.........Yup, Friday housing figure has caused TW to drift off.No doubt about it.
There will be next, some figure that causes them to climb back up, Then after that, the following week, some other figure will cause a drift off again....Then.....!!
It's all good fun as they say. It's what make the stock market fun.Our Oxford & Cambridge breed dealers in London will see to that.Things go up, then they come down, then they go up again, then they come down, then they....
It's why we see a usual rally in December. The Ox,Cam dealers need some money for that all essential Winters skiing holiday.

I saw in the news over the weekend that building rates have dropped. I wonder if that has affected it

Joe: far from bouncing, as hoped for, the falling price has accelerated the down trend today led by Barratt Devs and Taylor Wimpey the two largest. What's up?
