30/7/2015 09:49 | Taylor Wimpey plans £300m cash return - House builder Taylor Wimpey (TW) is planning an even bigger cash return next year ahead of this month’s £250 million payment. Jefferies analyst Anthony Codling retained his ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of 222p on the shares, which rose 1.5% to 185.4p yesterday. ‘Taylor Wimpey is proposing a £300 million cash return in July 2016, 20% ahead of the July 2015 payment of £250 million, which on our estimates implies a current year 2016 total yield of 6.2%,’ he said. ‘In our view, this increase summarises the group’s position well, reflecting growing profitability, strong cash generation, reduced requirement of capital investment and high earnings visibility. Our price target of 222p implies 21% upside.’ Addressing the ‘elephant in the room’ which is a bank rate rise, Codling said Taylor Wimpey was not expecting any rise to ‘significantly disrupt the housing market’ due to rising wages and falling unemployment. | ![]() speedsgh

29/7/2015 16:47 | Just looking at the chart, those who tried to trade this, would have made the odd few bob here and there, but would have never made up for that whoosh from 160 to 185. I've been long and strong (ooh, er missus) since 31p | ![]() homeboy35

29/7/2015 10:24 | The major support for this industry will come from government, it's about the only way they can improve their standing amongst the vast majority of the British public. | ![]() gbh2
29/7/2015 10:09 | Up until the point where Wimpey bought Taylor Woodrow, Wimpey Were a healthy company making a profit even in the last 2 housing down turns,So I see no reason why they shouldn't continue to make a profit,If the housing market slows down this is not all doom & gloom as land, material & labour costs also fall. Also as Tw has a good land bank they only need to top up with cheaper land, Houses are being built to meet demand if the demand is not there then you don't build it costs nothing to sit on land that you own. | ![]() jugears
29/7/2015 09:23 | The doom and gloom merchants are back - One has to wonder why, are they really daft enough to think they can influence trading by comments on a free BB? | ![]() gbh2
29/7/2015 09:17 | The only hope for tw share price up to Xmas is if things get even worse than they Are and hmg decide to give people money to buy property with a clause of 'Pay it back when you feel like it' | ![]() taffee
29/7/2015 08:38 | Yes wait until the interest rate increase cycle kicks in, probably earlier than expected too. Dance on the edge of the dance floor but be close to the exit door, chart will roll over Q3 onwards. | ![]() ny boy
29/7/2015 08:35 | Housing stocks are cyclical. Make hay while the sun shines, but dont forget to get out when the economy turns. So not for a while yet. Unless there are any unforseen big global financial shocks. | ![]() m4rtinu
29/7/2015 08:20 | "not sure what I am missing" Institutional trading is cheap these days and even with the good results the iii can make more by selling down the price (shorting) and returning for the big divis later. IF taffy is still crying wolf about the housing industry then imo the ONLY thing he's right about is that one day the steam will run out on TW's ability for capital growth but it'll still be a good steady income stock for those that like dividends. | ![]() gbh2
29/7/2015 08:13 | At the current price of 183p, I don't see how this is not a raging buy. I can see these over £2 by year end and with prospect of the 9.22p divi in 2016, for the long term investor they are a must buy. Of course I could be wrong but definitely worth a punt. | billy5

29/7/2015 07:49 | "· Further cash return of £300 million proposed, to be paid in July 2016, 20% ahead of the 2015 payment (July 2015: £250 million), reflecting increased cash generation and profitability." Excellent report and these type moves should encourage the HFs to retain their holdings :)) | ![]() gbh2 |
