Drop in value of major housebuilders follows a resurgence last week

Shares in listed housebuilders have slumped again on the latest economic fears regarding the impact of the coronavirus on the economy.

London Stock Exchange
The value of shares in Barratt, Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey – the three largest UK builders – were down 7%, 8% and 6% respectively by lunchtime, as the London Stock Exchange itself also registered a smaller but still significant fall.

The falls wiped hundreds of millions of pounds of the valuations of the UK’s listed housebuilders, who had prior to today staged a recovery in recent days.

Despite prime minister Boris Johnson’s announcement on the evening of 23 March to impose draconian “lockdown̶1; measures on the UK, thereby making residential sales and construction work very difficult to continue

If you invest you will know full well that shares do not go up in a straight line,that's the first thing I was taught about investing, my thoughts were that we would see these drop back to the 190's before the price slowly increased over the year which was my anticipated re entry price,I dont think that either I or anyone expected these to fall back to 1.10 but I have at least still made a good profit on the shares I have sold & still own, I am watching markets eagerly to get back in but will probably be this week as I am beginning to feel I have already pushed my luck not getting back in, Yes they may go down further the problem.is any good news re cv & this will be going back up very quickly.

ABBA...modern day Shakespeares of sorts.We are all plagiarists.We read or listen and nod and repeat the views of others when they strike a chord and agree with those that echo our own thoughts.What I find irritating about 1NHS and his mates,is that he likes to portray himself as an original thinker,some BB prophet.It's the same old cant that has been spewed out by apocalyptic apologists for the last century when commenting on bear markets.Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day but frankly,if 1 NHS thinks that he really adds any meaningful perception to the current market mayhem,he's kidding himself.Like the rest of us,he's in the dark as to how things pan out here.Experience tells you that things self correct and return to 'normal' with surprising speed.Ever kicked an ant's nest and returned an hour later to find that a new insect capital has been constructed nearby.Humans are not so different.

Good job I sold all mine on the 18th of Feb, I still have my original purchase bought for 30-37 p (These I will never sell) but sold the ones I bought for 1.30 & 1.70 last year as I had expected them to fall after reaching 2.37,at the time I wasn't quite expecting cv to have such an impact & although I have bought a few on the way down I am confident that I will now be able to double my 500k target for half the price.This is a well ran company with excellent management ,I have know doubt where the share price will be in 18 months from now.
