I think I'll join you! Way to much drivel here of late from the newbies. TW have covered my original investment many times over so I'm in here for free. In the near term, it may drop a little, it may rise a little. Rest assured, the first hint of any positive news re CV and this will rise once again. It will still be £3 down the line and dividends will resume. I can wait. I don't need the cash.

Why on earth is anyone giving oxygen to these 3 moronic trolls who get off purely on attention. I've had them filtered for ages. If everyone followed suit you would just see a load of blank posts which just accurately reflect their sad and empty personalities !

Cashcard #26074. Not sucked in by any shorters, who are not the only source of the fall in price. The recovery here and elsewhere will not be a sudden V shaped surge - there will be plenty of time to reinvest in due course at well below my exit price here.

"But they'll have to live somewhere. "

btl investors selling, people with holiday homes selling... will result in increase of supply...

Also because of Brexit, a lot of EU citizens returning back home..

Masurenguy,

Don't be sucked in by the shorters. They were at the airlines last month and now converged on housebuilders and property related stocks. All it'll take is a small move up and these shorters will be slaughtered.

Bricks and Mortar always wins out longterm. Sarah Beeny and crew will not be going anywhere soon.

I've held Taylor Wimpy for sometime now. Have held other builders as well, but TW has become my preferred holding. I'm about 50% down but haven't been tempted to sell, and will probably buy more when I sense the tide is turning. Management seem decent, were paying a good divi, good stock of land and they are not building around London, which I think is a good thing.

Your only down 50% not 100% yet

This is beginning to look like it could be heading below 100p ? One of my more fortunate calls to have sold out completely @210.8p on 26 Feb. Not ready to buy back in yet - still too much uncertainty - and it is highly likely that there will be another significant leg down in the market during this month.

raweden,

But they'll have to live somewhere. Be it a private home or council estate. There will always be a need to develop fresh housing supply - and credit markets freezing up will kill the economy dead - if it happens it will be very shortlived.

Most people buying new homes, as with new cars, do not buy them outright for cash. For new buyers to the market, the government actually gives you 20% of the deposit and you have to come up with just 5%. In London, the government gives first time buyers even more. Looking at the past and comparing to now is, in many respects, flawed.

Government will underwrite everything.

"Aus housing market is jupming off a cliff, here we are broke but we cant see it yet."

Yes and Indian & Dubai markets also falling off a cliff. Chinese economy suffering..

A lot of investors are from India and China... btl investors are selling as can be seen from auctions..

People will protect their own home and family 1st.. If their investments in property in UK look like they are about to collapse then there will be a rush to sell...
Currently we're in lockdown but I expect an increase of selling properties once we're out.

If people see their homes/familes in their native country beginning to suffer then foreign investments tend to be the 1st to go...

A surge of selling will result in a big reduction in property prices.

Plus the only reason you want the stock is for a Divi that has gone down the plug hole .

The directors can’t ever pay another as they need the cash themselves
