Markets clearly expecting a rights issue, same with AA., why do these companies wait so long before addressing debt, why do they wait until share price is so low.

Dunstone and Ross milked this for all it was worth, and now they are seeing their holdings getting smoked, I hope they have not put their stock up as security to fund other investments, this is going down to 50p!!

Talk's share price may be taking a further battering based on what, I presume, must be leaking information ahead of next Tuesday's trading statement (note, poor corporate governance).

Presume there is another dividend cut or even a cancellation in the offing.

Capita have announced similar today ("Dividend suspended until Company generating sustainable free cash flow") not hard to extrapolate the same unsustainable dividend yield (inherited from the Baroness) against an eventual dose of reality.

If Talk cut the dividend it will be sh1t for people relying on dividend income (like me) but if it saves the business, then so be it.

Note: "free cash flow" has become the new corporate mantra after the Carillon debacle.

Well I don't know a lot but by just reading their news about the mobile business and directors leaving and changing boards and looking at the chart going up and down. I maybe wrong about it being at one pound but it looks like it's going that way.

You seem to know a lot Lordz. When you say back to £1.00 do you want to tell us when it was last at that level please? And why you think that would be useful too......?

According to the Times, yesterday’s clobbering was due to Societe Generale lowering its target price from 150p to 125p

G'day, I'm a follower of the Tosca funds, bought today at over the odds 135, a gamble I guess, but I'm also curious.

Can anyone inform me of the tie up "Oath/Verizon/AOL/TALK"?

I have spoken with Talk, but unable to glean any info.

cheers

At these levels, hard to believe a dividend cut isn't being priced in (current yield 7.68%).

I feel I have some confidence in what TALK are doing but the stock market is on a hair trigger at the moment and telecoms are out of favour.

One for the contrarians?

So long as they can avoid any nasty surprises one week tomorrow.

All a bit flat ahead of next week's update after consistent falls from c£2. For once I've tried buying low (at 1.43 a couple of weeks back) in the expectation that it might be oversold. Any views on what the update might provide that would drive the price significantly up or down from here? I'm hoping most bad news other than a further dividend cut is already priced in?

Just picked this up on HL website (there seems a slight turning point now, as far as Broker recommendations are concerned, maybe the bad news has bottomed):

Barclays Capital 19/01 Reiterates Equal weight/Equal weight 170.00p

equal weight = neutral = hold

Anybody got the figures for TALK’s pension fund deficit (if any) at their fingertips?

Yes, to be fair, an interesting piece of industry intelligence.

Toople sound a bit like an "AO world" in that a new start-up is trying to muscle into an already saturated market (i.e. they're going to need a miracle).

Although small, maybe Toople will act as a catalyst to drive some industry consolidation amongst the bigger players?
