A rapid recovery from the Credit Suisse downgrade yesterday which hit the price hard.

Good strength. Good support. Encouraging.

Interesting times ahead.

Let's not forget the reports about TalkTalk exploring a sale of its mobile telephony business......

I've sold some there at 205p to lock in profits on lower-priced purchases, or losses on average purchase price, depending on how you look at it.

Joe,Recovering now,so good call from you buying in,but to be honest the Dividend yield of only 3.65% is no good for me now,and glad to get 210p,when TALK were 153p in January.I have put the proceeds into VOD,more upside in VOD then TALK hopefully.Can only see Talk going to 220 tops,but VOD maybe 250p,also VOD has a 6% dividend yield.

Well done Gary. Would appear to of been a good call given today's re rate. Don't take an awful lot of notice of brokers myself as many have "hidden agendas" so today is nothing more than a good opportunity to of bought in under £2. Confident we be trading back at £2.20 plus by mid October hopefully.

Yes just seen that - bet these companies love that. 6% wiped off on someone's opinion. Will see if it's just a shake or a real fall as momentum had been looking good up till this morning

Should we have a buy out/take over forget 230p. I would think 350p is nearer ball park area. Behind closed doors deals are being brokered.

Deutsche issue a broker note with a recommendation of REITERATE BUY and Price Target of 230p.

Good rise today on less than an average daily trading volume. This suggests that there may be more mileage to come over the next few days unless there is a rash of profit taking.

Of course, many moons ago -if memory serves correctly- Vodafone said that they had run a preliminary slide rule over TalkTalk.

It seems to me however that the mobile telephone customer base of TalkTalk would be of marginal interest to Vodafone.

At a time however when Vodafone is focusing hard on building out its UK broadband offerings, it strikes me that Talktalk's broadband INFRASTRUCTURE, market penetration and customer base would be of great interest to Vodafone.

ALL IN MY OPINION ONLY.

Who knows but potentially devolving Talktalk's mobile telephony business may or may not be just the opening gambit in a more involved change of corporate strategy.

One recalls 1) The Carphone/Talktalk demerger and 2) The Dixons/Carphone merger.

Whilst it is clear that Vodafone and TalkTalk are Davids and Goliaths, it is also clear that highly respected Sir Charles Dunstone is no stranger to corporate break-ups and corporate make-ups.

Talktalk is exploring an exit from its mobile operations, after opening talks with other providers over the future of the business.

The VOD bid talk can not be dismissed,or any other bid talk. It's just a matter of time and who!

Watch the share price continue to increase.
