07/4/2020 12:35 | We always question why we hold a falling share when opportunities lie elsewhere. But this could just fly out of nowhere on the right news or strong rumours. | ![]() dealer55

07/4/2020 12:23 | Guys anytime there is a lull or hiatus in news then any share is likely to drift, hence the share price behaviour here, not helped by the sizeable placing. So no Panic!! | torreskid

07/4/2020 10:02 | Did we miss this one from the 2nd April.. www.hra.nhs.uk/covid Title: A randomised double-blind placebo-controlled trial to determine the safety and efficacy of inhaled SNG001 Last updated on 2 Apr 2020 These trials have shown that SNG001 has: • been well tolerated during virus infections • enhanced antiviral activity in the lungs (measured in sputum and blood samples) • provided significant lung function benefit over placebo in asthma in two Phase II trials. | ![]() makendon
07/4/2020 09:36 | I should stress rebif is given iv for MS so is completely different from SNG001. Giving interferon beta iv is unlikely to work for pneumonia because you have to give so much to get a high enough concentration to the lungs. The half life of proteins like beta interferon are very short which is why delivering it directly to the site of action by inhalation is the best approach. | ![]() nobbygnome
07/4/2020 09:32 | I think there's enough room for more then one supplier worldwide anyway, however if Synairgen have various IP that could stall others supplying the market for some time | ![]() the milliner
07/4/2020 09:30 | Rebif at least is made in CHO cells so I assume SNG001 is the same. See the pharmacological properties section in the link below (section 5). | ![]() nobbygnome
07/4/2020 09:29 | Ah okay, thanks for your response | ![]() the milliner
07/4/2020 09:26 | SNG have various IP relating to inhaled beta interferon I think. Timbo is the best person to discuss this. | ![]() nobbygnome
07/4/2020 09:26 | I'm just wondering if this trial is successful, obviously there's a mass market here for the drug but would it be in demand worldwide or would other countries immediately start manufacturing their own beta version | ![]() the milliner
07/4/2020 09:25 | It is made by CHO cells I think, although I will have to check. CHO stands for Chinese Hamster Ovary cells which are commonly used because they are good at producing proteins. So these cells are grown in big fermenters and secrete the protein into the medium which can then be purified. | ![]() nobbygnome
07/4/2020 09:22 | nobby from the little I know, IF beta is a natural molecule produced by the body etc etc do you know how it is actually manufactured industrially/commerc thx and linking to milliner good question below, what do we own? a patent/IP for the manufaturing process of a modified version of the molecule? | ![]() the patient investor
07/4/2020 09:22 | But is there anything stopping other countries developing their own interferon beta | ![]() the milliner
07/4/2020 09:21 | And to explain further, alpha and beta bind to the same receptor. However, they are produced by different cells so are temporally and spatially different in their expression. Beta is produced by fibroblasts and you find a lot of fibroblasts in the lung, which is part of the reason why beta is thought to be the interferon of choice to be inhaled. | ![]() nobbygnome
07/4/2020 09:20 | vote this post up if you want to keep reading my pearls of wise delirium thanks and see you soon so far 9 people want me out, and how can I blame them!!?? lol | ![]() the patient investor
07/4/2020 09:19 | It's interferon alpha which will probably be not as efficacious as beta....although the jury is still out. | ![]() nobbygnome |
