25/7/2024 19:19 | I believe SPSY has been a consensus ''buy'' via Mello for quite some time? davidosh- I attended and had many enjoyable and fruitful sharesoc and mello presentations. I cannot recall anyone there ever complaining when I asked ''inappropriate'' questions, as kinkell refers to them, to the Directors of the Co's presenting? Neither can I recall anyone calling my questioning when helping to unearth frauds such as SPL (MPL) and CTAG, plus proving Directors had mis-told facts in such as AEX. Asking how a simple vote went is immaterial in the bigger picture. | pj 1
24/7/2024 21:40 | The markets have been very weak in the last few days since the Crowdstrike bug and subsequent tech sell off. The US had and awful day. Nasdaq CLOSED New York −3.64% 17342.41 −654.94 S&P 500 CLOSED Chicago −2.31% 5427.13 −128.61 It will not have done any harm having 160 Mello investors learning more about Spectra and they are fairly sensible so will not all have been chasing for stock first day and will watch for their buying opportunity.....if anything it means there will be lots waiting to buy the weakness. | davidosh
24/7/2024 17:40 | That SPSY BASH really didn’t help the share price at all :-((((( | shanklin
24/7/2024 14:31 | An event like Mello benefits all retail investors, so why not just respect the majority rather than show rudeness? | caterham88
24/7/2024 13:37 | kinkell 22 Jul '24 PJ 1 If you are interested in the companies on Mello Why don't you become a subscriber like the rest of us, instead of asking inappropriate questions? PJ 1 23 Jul '24 Well one reason is that Mello has too many pompous prat’s like you. And in the meantime I will continue to ask inappropriate questions about the largest holding in my portfolio. It is if no concern of yours. Thank you kinkell PJ1....Every so often an investor pops their head over the parapet and wants to slag off Mello when really all we are trying to do is improve engagement with companies and provide a platform for investors to come together and network with other like minded investors. If you come to a physical conference you will see hundreds of investors under one roof thoroughly enjoying the fact that others want to share their knowledge and experience. If not for you then that is fine but calling any of us pompous prats is uncalled for and will gain you very few credits if you are asking for help or information from those who do attend. It is made worse by the fact that you have attended some of our events in the past so you know the hard work that goes in to creating them and I had hoped you would be far more appreciative of quality shows | davidosh
24/7/2024 13:18 | Cash is still popular | davidosh
24/7/2024 09:52 | All this anniversary talk got me checking, first purchase 13th Aug 2015. I wish they were all as successful as Spectra. | dcarn
24/7/2024 09:34 | Very lucky !! | nico115
24/7/2024 09:29 | That 83% Buy rec at Mello didn't translate into many buys did it, and least not yet. | fozzie
24/7/2024 09:27 | Well long may he continue, I have spoken to him and swapped emails with him. He is a terrific ceo and we are so lucky to have him. | fozzie
24/7/2024 09:03 | I think he will go on until he can't. I've never met anyone with his passion ..I think it's also a hobby of his. He just loves his work.99pct of people work to live ,Nabil lives to work . | nico115
24/7/2024 08:32 | March 2014 was my first recorded buy and 10 year birthday in my ADVFN records, although I seem to recall I had bought before that, either way its passed my birthday. In that time I have averaged up and re-invested the vast majority of the dividends, so I have a big thnank you to all at SPSY and to some of the posters here who's comments here prompted me to research areas I probably would have done. 10 years ago ADVFN was a totally different discussional board than it is today. | pj 1
24/7/2024 08:29 | Congratulations to the 10-year holders. You guys must have had a fair bit back in divis over that time. You couldn't resist spending it could you fozzie? :-) boonkoh, I think you've summed it up there. It seems that the acquisition of Cartor allows them to manufacture the substrate, including their unique security features, built in. I guess you could call this a "printing" process, but then there will be the final color printing of the bank notes by a specialist bank note supplier. | gnome3
24/7/2024 08:26 | Congrats Nic, its a 15 bagger plus divis! Just got to sit back and let Nabil carry on doing the business here imho. You've met him Nic, he is 67 years old, do you think he has an exit strategy or you think he still wants to keep pushing? | fozzie
24/7/2024 08:07 | Happy anni FozzieI also think it's my 10 year anniversary !It was Nov 2015 I crossed over 3pct of Spsy and must thank Worsely as I got more aggressive when they bought in.Wonder If they still hold ?!! | nico115
24/7/2024 07:47 | Just passed my 10th anniversary in holding shares in this wonderful company. Wish I had just invested here and kept on adding, think I would be worth over 6M now lol. | fozzie
24/7/2024 07:43 | My understanding of Spectra's competitive positioning is that they can now provide the polymer substrate (ie sheets of blank material) with secruirty features embedded within.Whereas the other polymer players can't, so central banks have to print/add the security features onto the substrate. This of course gives stronger security features, anti-counterfeiting feature. So yes, Spectra will be "manufacturing/print | boonkoh
24/7/2024 06:36 | Hi Shanklin, Yes, that's what I assumed too. Partnering with a well-established bank note printer is going to give Spectra a much better opportunity to break into the polymer market. | gnome3
24/7/2024 06:13 | Hi Gnome3 Reading the annual report, there is NO suggestion that SPSY will involve themselves in printing banknotes. Its all about getting our polymer substrates used in banknotes produced by others. | shanklin
24/7/2024 05:37 | I see Cartor do brand protection stuff as well , so maybe it's about finally getting Trubrand going? Also could be about future ID docs , see recent general election?Total guess on my part , just the BB builder bloke. :-)DbD :-) | death by donut
24/7/2024 04:35 | I'm sure David at Mello won't mind me sharing the vote. 83% Buy and 1% Avoid. Pretty conclusive from the audience. There was an excellent pitch for Spectra by Alan Charlton, who clearly knows the company very well. The Monday Mello videos are archived and available to anyone who subscribes. Just one point that Alan made that got me thinking. He highlighted the acquisition of Cartor and suggested that this could enable in-house polymer bank note printing in the future. This would seem to be a valid assumption, but I'm wondering how this sits with the joint venture that Spectra are working on with "the biggest polymer bank note printer in the world" (NPA?). I'd assumed that they would be doing the printing. Anybody got any thoughts on this? | gnome3
23/7/2024 06:45 | Well that response tells us all we need to know about you. | kinkell
23/7/2024 03:07 | Well one reason is that Mello has too many pompous prat's like you. And in the meantime I will continue to ask inappropriate questions about the largest holding in my portfolio. It is if no concern of yours. | pj 1
