24/7/2024 08:47:41 | Just passed my 10th anniversary in holding shares in this wonderful company. Wish I had just invested here and kept on adding, think I would be worth over 6M now lol. | fozzie
24/7/2024 08:43:42 | My understanding of Spectra's competitive positioning is that they can now provide the polymer substrate (ie sheets of blank material) with secruirty features embedded within.Whereas the other polymer players can't, so central banks have to print/add the security features onto the substrate. This of course gives stronger security features, anti-counterfeiting feature. So yes, Spectra will be "manufacturing/printing" the polymer substrate, but not the actual banknote printing itself. | boonkoh
24/7/2024 07:36:08 | Hi Shanklin, Yes, that's what I assumed too. Partnering with a well-established bank note printer is going to give Spectra a much better opportunity to break into the polymer market. | gnome3
24/7/2024 07:13:14 | Hi Gnome3
Reading the annual report, there is NO suggestion that SPSY will involve themselves in printing banknotes. Its all about getting our polymer substrates used in banknotes produced by others. | shanklin
24/7/2024 06:37:57 | I see Cartor do brand protection stuff as well , so maybe it's about finally getting Trubrand going? Also could be about future ID docs , see recent general election?Total guess on my part , just the BB builder bloke. :-)DbD :-) | death by donut
24/7/2024 05:35:25 | I'm sure David at Mello won't mind me sharing the vote. 83% Buy and 1% Avoid. Pretty conclusive from the audience. There was an excellent pitch for Spectra by Alan Charlton, who clearly knows the company very well. The Monday Mello videos are archived and available to anyone who subscribes.
Just one point that Alan made that got me thinking. He highlighted the acquisition of Cartor and suggested that this could enable in-house polymer bank note printing in the future. This would seem to be a valid assumption, but I'm wondering how this sits with the joint venture that Spectra are working on with "the biggest polymer bank note printer in the world" (NPA?). I'd assumed that they would be doing the printing. Anybody got any thoughts on this? | gnome3
23/7/2024 07:45:11 | Well that response tells us all we need to know about you. | kinkell
23/7/2024 04:07:13 | Well one reason is that Mello has too many pompous prat's like you. And in the meantime I will continue to ask inappropriate questions about the largest holding in my portfolio. It is if no concern of yours. | pj 1

If you are interested in the companies on Mello Why don't you become a subscriber like the rest of us, instead of asking inappropriate questions? | kinkell

22/7/2024 10:29:06 | Vin Murria is on the show tonight too,,, and Richard Crow with Alan on the Bash | davidosh
21/7/2024 17:26:20 | Was only joking !!Nabil saying more good news to come is extremely bullish. You got any decent contacts at Mello ,davidosh? | nico115
21/7/2024 15:54:02 | It depends on how all the recent news is evaluated. Spectra has a Stockrank of 77 but listed on a p/e of 28. Investors will need to see the benefit of the contracts and acquisition so worth seeing the latest analysis. | davidosh
21/7/2024 09:04:26 | When a CEO says ''more good news to come'', at all time highs, never issued a profit warning, when on a forward p/e next year of just X8 , and also plans to reduce overheads, which I take to be some sort of synergy with Cartor which will also increase future earnings, then how can it not be a Buy? | pj 1
20/7/2024 19:24:08 | If we are a buy I will log in | nico115

19/7/2024 12:48:04 | " Spectra Systems Corporation, a leader in machine-readable high speed banknote authentication "
Todays global IT outage affecting cashless payments and costing the global economy how much ? Tens of $billions ? surely has emphasised the continuing need for securely authenticated banknotes ! | skyracer
17/7/2024 09:16:52 | Yes that was hopefully not just a throwaway line from Nabil. Very positive interview from a very great old ceo. | fozzie
17/7/2024 09:13:33 | I liked the end of the interview, "We'll have good news coming again soon".
Edit. Cross post. | dcarn

17/7/2024 08:53:16 | Hopefully whoever was profit taking yesterday has finished. I believe that held the share price back, but off course those buying yesterday would have been grateful. | pj 1
17/7/2024 07:40:25 | There was a brief interview with the CEO on Proactive yesterday hTTps://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/1052055/spectra-systems-ceo-announces-major-contract-with-central-bank-for-sensor-manufacturing-1052055.html | crazycoops
16/7/2024 22:12:54 | It had been a very unusual and long six months since Spectra had given us any news about the new contract. However, the wait was well worth it as we were greeted this morning with a lovely mouth-watering contract which enhances earnings significantly over this year and next, and then reports this will lead to further upgrades when the service contract is hopefully announced in early 2025.Spectra Systems has had a good run but did provide us with a period of angst. However, it has grown since February 2021, when Elric featured it after my persuasive charm. Its share price growth from 178p to 260p, marking a robust increase of approximately 46.1%. Consequently, the company's market capitalisation has swelled from £82 million to £125.37 million.https://x.com/lemminginvestor/status/1813281864909529315?s=46 | elrico
