28/9/2018 16:13 | Gordon Bennett! "Shorter in control here on lower volumes it seems" ____________________ What lower volumes? There's only been 36 million traded all week and todays volume is getting very close to that! What lower volumes?????? NMRN | not my real name
28/9/2018 16:12 | Sorry but are you suggesting being a Bond holder is what you call an Investor? OMG - that's the best comment of the day! Lol. I didn't realise that debt had been redefined in the dictionary as Equity!! | bobby1904
28/9/2018 16:08 | PPVN, You wouldn't mind explaining it now and again but I would have thought at least some of the new posters would have taken the time to glance at a few of the posts on here! NMRN | not my real name
28/9/2018 16:06 | Shorter in control here on lower volumes it seems | davethehorse
28/9/2018 16:03 | Dread to imagine what Bobby is going to think in the next week or so... | ppvn
28/9/2018 16:01 | Those funds who are shorting Sirius are ALL major investors in the company. They bought convertible bonds right at the start! They are shorting as a way of hedging. They do not think there is anything wrong with the company. It is a standard hedge fund strategy which is played out wherever you find convertible bonds. NMRN | not my real name
28/9/2018 15:58 | ?? Yes. And the big ones now open have all been materially increased in last 6 months including in last few wks. That's my point. I was replying to Steve who was saying shorts are all short term. Clearly that is not correct. Currently 6 Funds are short. 6.43% of the stock. That's only the ones who individually have over 0.5%. So. there will be others too. But as usual Retail punters think they know better. These Funds have huge internal analyst resource & way more knowledge than the average Retail Punter yet typical that people think they know best. Based on what? A hunch? That's not investing - it's just gambling by people who can't hear anything other than what suits themselves. | bobby1904
28/9/2018 15:38 | bobby1904, Most short positions have been open since April 2017! NMRN | not my real name
28/9/2018 13:51 | PS Steve. Most current short positions on SXX have been open since April. Hardly short term...!! | bobby1904
28/9/2018 13:50 | Steve. I never said it was The shorts I'm referring to are all Institutions & Funds NOT spread betting firms. However, you are 100% wrong. I suggest you call Spreadex & actually ask them how it works. When you place a short spread they do still borrow & sell the stock. I know this first hand as have done it many times & had discussions with Spreadex about the size of their borrowing pool which they dip into. First they see what their own clients are holding & if necessary go to outside third party counterparts to borrow the stock. Any short position is still borrowed & sold.! | bobby1904
28/9/2018 13:39 | To all other posters iam a genuine holder mainly holding for future dividends but these earnings aren’t just around the corner like some of you think I think the first payments may start 2025/6 | dp1umb
28/9/2018 13:34 | There you go again conspiracy!!! Do you really think anything posted on here makes any difference to the share price both positively or negatively?? While I have your attention Carla we actually go back along way you’ve been commentating on my posts and me on yours . So Carla just take a few moments to read back through them post them by all means then we can see who maybe working from a boiler room or is just plain delusional. | dp1umb

28/9/2018 13:14 | Cartels ? Conspiracies? De ramping? No Carla market forces! Risk Reward! The Risk factor is why the shares are not trading at 100p the rewards are the reason we’re not trading at 5p these are facts now get a life. | dp1umb

28/9/2018 12:21 | bobby spreadbetting is not the same as shorting - it doesnt involve any real market transaction. shorting is merely an irritant - and as the name implies, short term. | steverabet
28/9/2018 12:18 | bobby1904, Yes, we all knew that 2 years ago. We also know the reasoning behind it. Suggest you do some research of your own and get up to speed. NMRN | not my real name
28/9/2018 11:34 | Ps - the shorts I'm talking about are all funds/institutions with more than 0.5% short positions. These are not retail punters shorting £500 on spreadex!! | bobby1904
28/9/2018 11:33 | It's 20th most shorted stock out of 600 companies reported via FCA. And it's increased 1% alone in the last 3-4 wks. You can't ignore the huge issue of stage 2 financing. The cash needed runs into £billions! This is not easy. Can't just click fingers & cash arrive next day. If they have problems it will have a hugely negative impact. We have to be realistic this could be a flip of a coin as to survival of the business so it can't be brushed under the carpet and just be kept quiet!! | bobby1904
28/9/2018 11:29 | getting a bit absent-minded...coul | steverabet
28/9/2018 11:25 | Short positions have doubled in the last 5 months. Now 6.43% of the co.'s shares are shorted. To put that in context, the most shorted stock in mkt is Pets at Home with 13.5% of it's stock. Carillon is 10.2%. Sirius is not that far behind!! | bobby1904
28/9/2018 11:01 | The "auditor's" bit in the half year results is surely a bit of a red herring that some journalist must be using to emphasise his opinion. At year end Sirius will either have the stage 2 financing in the bag ie. fully committed, or it won't. If it hasn't, the brown stuff hits the fan imho, long before the auditors qualify the full year results months later. My opinion can be deduced from the 18p end of year price I submitted in January, fwliw, but I hope to be proved wrong! | muckshifter |
