08/10/2018 12:04 | What rumours are those? | stemis
08/10/2018 11:49 | If the rumours are to be believed then PI's may be in for a pleasant surprise. | detective1
08/10/2018 11:28 | I don't think many would deny this is a potentially great mine. The question is, will they be able to fund it without a large, discounted placing that will leave PI's nursing a loss? | stemis
08/10/2018 10:01 | Think there is still some downward pressure to live with before any rise add to that a weak market generally no rush to get involved here | davethehorse
08/10/2018 09:10 | Its NPV is around $15.4 billion. Compared to a market capitalisation of around $1.7 billion, this suggests that the company could offer good value for money. | johnwise
08/10/2018 09:10 | The combined companies wouldn’t be a monopoly as they would be competing in an open fertiliser market ( the price of the product would be controlled by market forces and not by company price manipulation) | dp1umb

08/10/2018 08:24 | I have bought into EML this morning. I recommend you look at it: huge, ultra low cost potash mine in Morocco, close to existing roads, ports and clients. Makes me wonder how SXX can compete? | mad foetus

07/10/2018 09:40 | 11 Its spelt Boulby, sounds much better than old Bouldy. And yes a 5 mile spur could connect it to the new tunnel. | thanksamillion
07/10/2018 08:36 | Thanksamillion yes on the current production plan for the Woodsmith mine, combining the only two polyhalite producers would create a dominant monopoly supplier. However in the admittedly unlikely situation that Sirius runs out of cash I was thinking that ICL could acquire the assets but not use them to increase production rather like an oil company adding reserves. Anyway unlikely and totally hypothetical. Thank you for raising the topic of ICL. Their website is an interesting read. | danny baker

06/10/2018 20:15 | The only thing that Bouldy has going for it is, the railway line. There may be some merit in a buying Bouldy and connecting the two mines underground. SXX Poly could then be exported via the Bouldy railway. However, for this to be profitable we need to sell a lot Poly, more than the capacity of the conveyor in the tunnel. | 11_percent
06/10/2018 19:48 | "should Sirius run out of money at any stage then possibly ICL could rescue the mine." But you just said, "Competition and Markets Authority wouldn't look too kindly on the only two polyhalite miners in the world merging to become a monopoly supplier." Cake and eat it ;-) | thanksamillion

06/10/2018 15:27 | Interesting but the Competition and Markets Authority wouldn't look too kindly on the only two polyhalite miners in the world merging to become a monopoly supplier. I think the locals might have various concerns about it as well. I wonder what ICL think about Sirius' request for government guarantees in its Stage 2 financing when Sirius will be their only direct competitor in polyhalite. A long shot I think but should Sirius run out of money at any stage then possibly ICL could rescue the mine. | danny baker
06/10/2018 13:14 | A thought for discussion perhaps.... With SXX looking for an sum of around £500m, perhaps from a mining company [in addition to the bonds under current negotiation] to fund the mine build. How a bout ICL as a possibility, with Boulby thrown in for good measure. Ie ICL gets say £600m in SXX equity at perhaps around to 30p mark, SXX gets Boulby and £xxxm cash. In a stroke not only is the finance sorted, but SXX is immediatly made a producing miner with hopefully Boulby making profits over the next five years to help fund the shaft sink. ICL made profit of $600m last year. Sounds too simple, I must be missing something. | thanksamillion
06/10/2018 12:26 | deja vu? While doing some research on Potash/mining/costs etc etc i came across this company Emmerson (EML), another early stage Potash Mining Company, does anyone have a view on this company? There's not a lot on the EML board but the price/volume has been moving upwards in the past few days. Ignore or delete this post if deemed off topic/inappropriate or a ramp. please reply on the EML board. Baz | bazildonbond
05/10/2018 14:54 | Sirius Minerals launch park and ride service to mine The new facility will help to reduce the number of cars using the local roads to travel to the site, in line with the company’s commitment to minimise the environmental impact of the mine. | johnwise
05/10/2018 13:02 | Hi Mr Oz, Just don't understand how it can be called a traders share at all - it's not clear to me at all whether we are over or under value at this point. It all hinges on what stage 2 looks like - and since I'm not an insider it just strikes me as a bizarre share to trade. It is clear however that our short funds will buy around 25p. So in my opinion at least, taking a short here carries a high element of risk vs. reward? | ppvn
05/10/2018 12:58 | PPVN, tbh I think I closed my short too early. Traders share here atm | mr.oz
05/10/2018 11:23 | I made no comment about raising equity. Sirius have already laid out how they plan to execute on their stage 2 financing. Would rather imagine any slide is more to do with the noise coming out of the US re. rates and the decision to be a bit more hawkish rather than let the curve invert. We are going to be borrowing in USD, don't forget. Just boring times here. Add away to your fantasy short. Plenty of vols for you to sell into, oh - hang on... | ppvn
05/10/2018 11:16 | The daily share price pattern seems to be an initial mark up but after that any strength soon gets sold into. I've been trying to increase my short position because of concerns over an imminent equity issue but every time the shares move up there is someone hitting the bid. At the same time despite what ppvn may think there has been someone supporting the price with a large buy order in the closing auction around the 26.86/26.88 level although today they may set a lower buying level. At the moment I think the shorters have far more firepower than the fans of the stock so the trend downwards looks intact. As ppvn said from a shareholder point of view if they are going to raise equity the sooner they do it and get it out of the way the better. | danny baker |
