It's not the job of the BOD to support a share price.
Improved operational performance, which they are responsible for,
should take care of that.

If the BOD considered that Senior was worth more than £2 a share
then why are they not buying the shares hand over fist?.

Tbf it may be worth that to someone else if another bid emerges.

They should be trying to support share price especially after rejecting offers.. surprised they not buying at these levels.

SNR a fair sized holding for me, but share price performance remains disappointing. As does the negligible amount of director buying, after turning down a bid of 200p last year. CEO David Squires, whose comp package was £1.35 million last year (probably more like £1.5 million this year), has spent only £40k on shares. FD Bindi Foyle (comp £ 906k last year, up from £617k in 2020) hasn't spent any of her own money on shares -- she even sold half of a recent bonus share award. The chairman Ian King did buy 100k at 142p, but I'm beginning to wonder whether he just felt guilty at turning down the 200p offer...

Come on directors, show a bit of faith in the company, as you're asking the rest of us to do!

Well said lindowcross.

Lone Star can stick their £2 where the sun doesn't shine as far as I'm concerned.

The Princeton boys in chinos made their offer in the summer of 2021 at £2.00, not out of philanthropic generosity but because they reckoned they could make a few bob from an undervalued asset. Who knows what they concluded? Possibly that with the right management SNR could be worth a lot more than £2.00 after five years: that takes us to around 2026. This is from the Lone Star website: "Lone Star seeks investment opportunities in markets that have suffered an economic and/or banking crisis, resulting in a dislocation in asset pricing and value opportunities." So I'm content to trade on the sidelines and await developments until then. I'd resent some smooth wheeler-dealers buying the company on the cheap. So if the SNR share price is truly "dislocated", it follows poor, downtrodden foot-soldiers like us can benefit from a share price which currently doesn't reflect true value. Oh, and by the way, as they used to say in 1940, "don't you know there's a war on?"

Shocking recent performance.

£2 barring a bid is la la land for the foreseeable, so agree.

If there was underlying value to be unlocked now is the time.

A trade buyer to extract maximum value must surely have been looking at acquiring SNR.

...from last year...

Senior plc is an engineering company. The Company designs, manufactures and markets high-technology components and systems for the principal original equipment producers in the aerospace, defense, land vehicle and energy markets. It operates in two divisions: Aerospace and Flexonics. The Aerospace Division serves both the commercial aerospace and defense markets with a range of products and systems for structures, fluid conveyance, and gas turbine engines. The Flexonics division serves markets with products for land vehicle emission control and industrial process control applications. Current market cap is around £678m.

SNR today published interim results for H1 2021. Revenues were down 19% from H1 2020 as this period included 3 months of business pre-COVID shutdowns. Revenues totalled £332.8m (vs £409.0m). But encouragingly the business is trading ahead of management’s previous expectations, again suggesting that the worst of the COVID driven hit to business is in the rear view mirror. Also encouragingly management indicate that there are clear signs of recovery in SNR’s end markets. There should be ongoing incremental revenue recovery accordingly....

Fretting about shares at this time is like worrying about what starter to order from the Titanic First Class menu. Having said that, I have just bought back some SNR sold earlier this year. The company should benefit from increased defence spending.

MB, it needs to shine to be silver!.

Made my way through their big presentation on powering future growth
and the transition of the business, have to be honest and say although I
understood the concepts outlined, the detail you may need to be an engineer or such like to comprehend.
