Interesting to see the effect of Alibaba fine. The economic effect is of course minimal in the grand scheme of things but more the sentiment that is important.

Morning Jock,It's something I've been looking to clarify for a while. I've not seen anything yet in it's unlisted holdings with exposure to blockchain, thats not to say its just not common knowledge. As you know SMT has the flexibility and considerable financial clout to take positions in company's early on, some will work some won't, we know they have an eye for winners.I'm sure I recall a webinar when Slater/Anderson were asked about Blockchain/Crypto etc and said they were always looking but hadn't found the right vehicle yet. Quite happy to trust that they will be all over it at the right time and right company, they've definitely earned investors trust:)

I was trying to research whether SMT has any form of Blockchain linked investment on its books. I couldn't see any, but thought I'd double check here.

I agree with both your comments- so no surprise that I have yet to take any position in SMT (although they’re by no means a one-company Trust of course)!

ARK Invest also predict that bitcoin will be about $600,000 sometime in the future...

SMTs 2nd biggest holdingIllumina - Shares of the biotech company jumped more than 9% after Illumina pre-announced better than expected results for its first quarter. The company said it expects about $1.085 billion of revenue for the period, above the $924.6 million projected by analysts, according to FactSet. Illumina also raised its full-year revenue guidance..

In the main I agree with your general view of Ark predictions in general, not just for Tesla to be fair.However, the point you make about the inconsistencies in the figures or assumptions I would counter with your own arguments on Teslas current dominant position in the EV market. You, rightly with others suppose that current market share in the US cannot possibly continue, with other car makers coming into play. Tesla has between a 50% to 60% market share of the US EV market, that is huge first mover advantage and massively significant. It is potentially years ahead in terms of software integration in most of the lower end models and it literally can't manufacture enough of its new model SUVs to satisfy demand. It has addressed issues of scaling by building massive gigafactories and already forged ahead with securing the minerals required for its batteries, I would imagine it has done the same with semiconductors.Traditional car markers have hugely underestimated the science, computing and engineering of EVs and are playing catch up.Valuations are entirely down to the market but when looked at through a subjective lens, maybe not as shockingly high as you may think.

@wetdream. Bear in mind that ARK has a very large vested interest in pumping the stock. Also bear in mind that their model made some very optimistic assumptions about margins in insurance, very optimistic assumptions about the value of Robotaxis (incredible given we are years away still from FSD), very generous assumptions about the lack of competition in the BEV sector and also some very basic mistakes (like the number of shares in issue currently). Brett Winton got torn apart on social media every time he tried to defend ARK's research. So I would suggest taking ARK's price targets with a *very* large pinch of salt.

Yesterday’s Times reports that Ark Invest expect Tesla shares to reach $3000 by 2025, valuing it at $3trn.

nasdaq up and bond yields falling slightly . Once again SMT is a great day trading stock at times ! It can take off .
