14/6/2021 13:58 | and as prices flip flop , always best to change direction and react quickly . As you pay SD , you can NOT do this and make a profit . | arja
14/6/2021 13:54 | just because I exited a little while back does not mean I wish ill luck to holders sport and a silly comment from you about flip-flopping . There are other trading opportunities in the market and i might even have re-entered this stock, In fact I went for GSK and PCT as can not focus on more than two at a time and OAAT is preferable. i do not deride your system and ETHO as you say . US indices falling after opening but nasdaq holding up fairly well at the moment | arja
10/6/2021 22:52 | arja - One minute you announce you exited today at £12.22, the next you say: “bond yields falling further and SMT really motoring - enjoy!” Talk about flip-flopping investment strategy. PS: No need to respond, as I won’t reply - but good luck with your day trading. Personally I prefer to view SMT as a long term holding for the patient amongst us. But each to their own I guess. | lord loads of lolly
10/6/2021 15:26 | bond yields falling further and SMT really motoring - enjoy ! | arja
10/6/2021 15:12 | bond yields falling again and it should pick up a bit towards the close to about 1215 perhaps . more than one way to make money sport and you sound a bit of a know all to be honest. Hope you make your fortune with it ! | arja
10/6/2021 15:08 | silly comment about gullibility and you must not have noticed the widening discount to NAV ! i only trade it when it seems a good moment and exited today at 1222 after buying yesterday for a very modest profit when bond yields started to rise a bit . Was hoping it would do much better !! | arja
10/6/2021 14:40 | Nothing to do with "bad news known by insiders". Really, you must think we're all very gullible! Put simply, SMT can't ALWAYS be the best performer. And let's not forget, it had a stellar run in 2020. Unless you bought at or near this year's peak (in which case your investment horizon should be at least 5 years), forget any short term price movement & focus on the long term rewards. | lord loads of lolly
10/6/2021 10:53 | wonder why SMT is now the laggard in the Tech Trusts performing worse than ATT and PCT recently ! maybe bad news on horizon known by insiders ! | arja
09/6/2021 17:51 | Post 16/12/20 No. 88 re BioNtech. +110% and climbing fast. | quepassa
09/6/2021 14:18 | and lower US bond yields again today are supporting nasdaq index ! | arja
09/6/2021 14:04 | discount has widened , nasdaq up aboout 100 from tuesday close in UK and cable weaker today. Surprised thaat SMT not back to at least 1230 ! | arja
08/6/2021 13:07 | What a shame, none in Apr. holdings. Thanks | 8homer

08/6/2021 08:52 | No. Or at least, not a significant amount on 30 04 21. Click on the "All" tab on the holdings table via the following link to view all current holdings above 0.7%: | lord loads of lolly
08/6/2021 08:16 | Does SMT hold any Biogen shares? | 8homer
03/6/2021 14:58 | I literally reported a fact. It is one of SMTs top 10 holdings, in any Trust that is significant. That's all I posted.I made no comment other than that, you have drawn your own conclusion as to what that means. You were and are being pedantic. | dexter1612
03/6/2021 14:52 | Nope, still talking pish. | dexter1612
03/6/2021 11:53 | lords loads- well done on comment and absolutely right-so ignore comments about any one holding asit gives a distorted view | ali47fish
03/6/2021 09:41 | Not sure how I can make myself any clearer, but let's try: 1) A 10% increase on a 4% holding equates to just a 0.4% increase overall. Which is pretty insignificant. 2) A 4% holding, viewed in isolation, tells you nothing about the overall performance of the trust, as it ignores any movement in value on the remaining 96% of holdings. | lord loads of lolly
02/6/2021 15:55 | Not sure what your point is, I reported the facts of a significant holding....around about 4% of SMT is considerable, relative to other holdings in the portfolio. | dexter1612
02/6/2021 15:49 | True. But a 10% increase on a 4% holding doesn't amount to much. It's a bit misleading to highlight a single holding that's risen (or fallen) significantly & draw any conclusions. That said, I'm a big fan of SMT and still regard it as a good long term bet (albeit high risk). Its low fees & dividend (though small) are the icing on the cake for me. | lord loads of lolly

24/5/2021 13:42 | SMT less dynamic than usual and I thought it would be a bit higher today with nasdaq up about 100 since UK close on friday . one never knows in markets ! | arja
23/5/2021 14:08 | Hi all,Long time SMT holder, first time posting on the thread.Bmel, I completely agree about Motley Fool. Waste of a website and such a con. I get that there are differences in opinion but to the influx of new investors who think it's a wise resource, it's just a method for the company years down the line to claim that all their great calls and poor calls were right. | dougy1 |
