why do i have a fundamental problem ?

you keep referring to the workers

i have not mentioned them ...

and to be honest there is no point . its a free market

example Dentist don't want to work for the Government

example Military is way under staffed

there is no forced labour !!!

so people have choice

what the Government does is tax's employment, it does not incentivise

which means you cannot afford to carry dead wood !!

if its non productive close it ....

its a very simple concept ...

Hello Inan - you think I won't be watching 'economic indicators' over the next two years ? Or as earlier suggested, that I don't know what 'profit' is ? It's you that has a 'fundamental' problem.

I think we should both consider the merits of capitalism whilst also looking after working people.

Ruck - entertaining as ever and BTW are you agreeing with your new Bruv Luv Inan ? Did you ever consider that your acclaimed achievement - 'incumbent bunch of inadequates were kicked out', might leave the UK in a better position, or might land us with a worse lot than before ? I feel I'm watching two victims of incumbency prejudice . . . .

I suggest to both your goodself, and the venerable Inan, maybe think harder next time.

This is fun but Goodnight or for Inan, Fan Dee Na Cap !

For any party other than Labour and Conservative to get any influence, we need proportional representation. The Lib Dem's got 72 seats to Reform's 5 despite Reform getting more votes. How is that democratic? The problem Farage has is he tells it like it is. People don't want to hear the truth, they only want to hear what they want to hear. We are also too obsessed with what is politically correct (as prescribed by a small minority) rather than what is reasonable to the vast majority. Although I agree with some of Reforms policies, I didn't vote for them in the last election. I thought it was more important to make sure the incumbent bunch of inadequates were kicked out.

the problem you have Tf is a fundamental one .. not my words ... yours

""Uh Inan ? That sounds like a rant. Moving on, your (once upon a time) Tories did have 14 years to make a move on all this stuff LOL. As for no socialism, we see the result of, not looking after the workers - you don't produce much. Maybe you should ponder the shackles of "Capitalism'?""

you have not even considered that its socialism that is dragging capitalism down

I suggest you watch the economic indicators over the next two years.

Inan - I was interested to see you have been to 2 Reform Conferences - was that the Annual Conferences or something else ? I don't remember you mentioning that before. It's unusual for you to be under the bushel with your light.

Also interesting that you received some recs - again unusual for one of your, for me, jumbled posting missions - statistically insignificant of course, but indicates some anti-incumbency is already rife just a few months into the new Government's term. (there's a long way to go, Petitions LOL !).

BTW to my comment about the Employers NI, I'd add that big pay rise to the broadly well paid train drivers, to an early list of Labour howlers.

But that's my last on this. Nice day to you.

Yes twice and i am a member have been for a few years now , of course your entitled to your opinion and my response has not been aggressive ..but informative but if you feel the electorate are supportive of liars, extreme ideologists, trickle up economics and all the other nonsense that these institutions come out with .. that's up to you

but its all about the "bottom Line"

that defines everything

money talks ...

it buys you defence

it buys you welfare

the most hated word in the UK ...is Profit

Inan - just out of interest, have YOU ever been to a Reform Conference ?

Sorry but I don't usually follow your Human and Political insights closely. The dominant feature of Politics in the West these days is the rejection of incumbents.

I will eat your hat if Reform make the next Government.

Unfortunately, I am entitled to an opinion and that's that.

MT - re.your 14933, fair enough. But I do spend almost half my time in England and read the DT, G and Indy every day, also listening to Parliament and Radio news regularly and discuss with Brits daily. So I'd like to suggest that MO is as considered and informed as many resident Brits.

With Farage, be careful what you wish for. For me he is a simple populist and beneficiary of anti-incumbency - we see in the UK and US what that can lead to.

Seeing Farage' stance on e.g. abortion limits and assisted dying does nothing to dispel my reservations. You seem to suggest that Farage/Reform are becoming powerful for those 'in the know' like you.

Whilst I'd love to see some real changes and progress too, I doubt Farage has many good answers.

And by the way, abbvie had 100 (ONE HUNDRED) patents ON TOP of the original one. All for nothing. Well almost, they maybe managed to delay the invevitable for a year or so (humira had 20B in sales per year) but that's it.

That doesn't mean applying for additional patents isn't good practice for a small company in particular. That's because this way you can deter malevolent actors from claiming it themselves and then having to take them to court, which you would win but it would cost. So it's more about good practice relating to freedom to operate rather than using it to prevent others, though small co managrment more often than not does let individual investors believe as such.

Yes Sci, gold reserves, something with a finite supply. Some Polynesian societies used rare sea shells. The Romans used salt (Latin salarium from which we get the word salary)

Don't be confused by the fact Gordon Brown sold out the UK reserves on the cheap. The USA, Germany still have reserves and Russia and China have significantly increased their reserves over the past 50 years.

I admit that things have changed since I studied Economics, there was no digital currency back then!

Here is a more recent example from 2018, Abbvie tried to build a patent mountain on Humira with the aim to extent exclusivity to 2034.

Yet, there are NINE approved biosimilars to humira as we speak.
