Phase III failure for
@Roche
's TIGIT asset tiragolumab, which when combined with Tecentriq did not significantly boost overall survival in NSCLC patients.

Good spot. Note the transaction values the company at USD1.5bn ....as compared to a closing market cap last night of USD249mn last night. It is another illustration of the market misvaluations of companies in this sector.

Starmer, of course, has his own personal pension arrangements (and nobody else's) protected by a very specific Act of parliament.

I do agree with your point about there being no pension pot held by government. Just like car tax isn't spent on roads.

well ... its what it is ... if you means test the state pension you are opening up a can of worms probably even bigger than the winter fuel ...

and you discourage people to take out private pensions

everything is connected

. . . "but they paid into it".

No. 'They' paid a tax masquerading as a fund for the future. The truth is that NI monies have never been set aside for the future pension payments but have always been used to defray current year's expenses. So 'They' have benefited already, in effect, by not being taxed on something else in those past years.

There is no fund set aside for Pensions. It's a current liability to be settled from ccurrent income. My earlier refers.

Get some sleep M8.

but they paid into it .... more so than the low paid why do you need to cheat people ?

funding has to come from somewhere ! but not at the expense of growth

its quite a simple sum "keep within your budget" and don't over promise

we are now spending £4.5b on illegals !!!

we have given away £500m to foreign farmers

huge foreign aid budget

list goes on and on ...

anyway you are already seeing growth stall ... and the main taxs have not kicked in yet

give it a year and labour business plan will collapse

inan - "All pensions are means tested Tf via Income Tax".

That's not a means test that's an income tax. Really, some Retirees just don't need the State Pension - reduce their tax burden by not paying it in the first place. Simple.

Funding has to come from somewhere . . . . . .

all pensions are means tested Tf via Income Tax and fiscal drag will make that far worse, so in effect the state pension is being clawed back for those with private pensions

no escape

Reeves made a ridiculous mistake - increasing Employers NI and directly undermining one of Labour's stated aims, to 'get people back to work'.

So where else could the funds have come from ? How about setting aside the 'triple lock' and making the State Pension a means tested benefit, not paid to those who already have good private income for their old age. Then there's also Public Service 'gold-plated' pensions which are not sustainable and will have to be addressed one day.

That's it !

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has told businesses she is "not coming back with more borrowing or more taxes" as she defended the tax rises on businesses announced in the Budget.

mmm wonder why he didn't go electric instead of his Skoda comic, thought that is what Guardian readers and lefties do ...

patiently sit in a q to pay 80p a KWh on boost

approx twice the cost of Petrol, even after pump tax per mile

still ... they love it ! something to talk about over earl grey and scones while waiting

drag coefficients are logarithmic ... hence you see electric cars at 40 mph in 70 mph limits
