22/9/2009 14:33 | put a chart of SAF up and then run any other property plc against it for comparison. Now remember, property is property, SAF doesn't stamp its brand on the buildings it buys, they are like everyone elses in the market. We know that prices have bottomed, because prop share prices and the IPD are telling us, so that means that the only reason that SAF has lagged is becasue it has lagged - if you run the same chaarts from three years baack or more, you will see that SAF moves like a property stock and always catches up......eventually, as the song says......however this is a tiddler and probably only soootable for totts....crookney! | ydderf
09/9/2009 12:27 | Has yet to catch up with the property rerating. | crawford
07/9/2009 15:52 | One sell and we're down. | crawford
27/8/2009 14:39 | this is one where you can only buy when there is no news, otherwise you are lucky to be able to get a fiver at wide spread......the Lipmans have a long and successful record as dealmakers..... | ydderf
27/8/2009 13:34 | "With the continued support of the banks and our professional team, we consider that Safeland is well positioned to take full advantage of any improvement in market conditions as and when they may occur, whilst also assessing opportunities in other areas that have the potential to improve the Company. I therefore, remain optimistic for the long term future." Raymond Lipman Chairman 30 June 2009 | crawford

26/8/2009 08:53 | Time for this to take part in the property recovery? | crawford
24/8/2009 20:20 | Jeff H - well done. Wish I had!! | topvest
24/8/2009 19:36 | Yes, I had highhopes for the "new Bizspace" vehicle...but that seems to have stalled......glad to have sold for 90-105p! | jeff h
24/8/2009 17:11 | I agree - they have done nothing useful for 3/4 years except take £2m a year. However, they do have the potential to get things right in a rising market which is where we will be soon - e.g. Safestore, Bizspace and Hercules from the last cycle. Time running out though and it's time to get moving!! | topvest
24/8/2009 15:29 | topvest - how much will the banks have charged for their waiver? Add this expense the the ott basic directors wages and interest on the debt and it says to me the next set of Interims will also be loss making. Whilst people like Panthers Perloff have been making money throughout the downturn SAF don't appear to have done much...certainly nothing to deserve the large director sals. At some point they may start to make good profits again but I'll sit it out for now but wish anyone holding/buying the best. | jeff h
24/8/2009 14:40 | it is difficult to see how SAF can be a wallfower much longer in the current feeding frenzy on over slaughtered heavily geared property stocks.......all imho natch (for what can happen see OTE today, and LTW last week) | ydderf
07/8/2009 14:47 | Well I suspect that the MM's are anticipating a possible delisting and do not want to be holding a lot after that is announced, hence the price given What do you think was the motive of the seller of 230,000 @10.75p???? Looks the other way to me empirestate, only trade today a buy of 2900 @ 16p thats more likely to be an inside trade if the MM's are desperate for buyers, its worth one of them doing that trade for £400 odd squid I would avoid until you have clarity......agreed don't sell unless you are overexposed in pound notes | mryesyes
06/8/2009 07:56 | mryesyes, yes it was a sale and a good indication that there is a discount buyer there to soak up the overhang. | empirestate
05/8/2009 16:29 | So why with a spread of 12-16 was the last deal on ADVFN a sale of 230,000 @ 10.75? | mryesyes
27/7/2009 20:57 | They would have done that years ago if they wanted to. | topvest
27/7/2009 17:34 | DELIST NOW AND GET IT OVER WITH | mryesyes
16/7/2009 03:31 | This is delisted now? | mryesyes
04/7/2009 16:00 | Yes, that's how I remember it. Given they majority own the company, then ordinarily I would expect these to be cut in the interests of keeping the business afloat. We will see. | topvest
04/7/2009 10:37 | topvest - from memory the Lipmans contracts give them large basic pay and then a bonus related to profit levels...so can't see them taking much of a pay cut. | jeff h
04/7/2009 08:09 | I agree. They have the City backing I believe and so I am positive on this. I'm still holding their various demerged subsidiaries - hopefully one of them can do a deal now. Still they have lost nearly 90% of their value...which is not good for anyone. NAV is possibly a tad understated now as properties are held at the lower of cost and NRV. On that basis you revalue down below cost, but don't revalue up. That may give a bit more comfort on the rather high LTV. Be interesting to see whether the Board took a pay cut when the accounts come through as they earn way too much for running Safeland, in it's current form. | topvest |
