Is this not delisting?

Interesting - thanks. If that's the result then NAV will be c90p. I'm not bullish enough to buy any more, but will hold what I've got. Larry Lipman should be a wise bloke to back when we hit bottom.

As an ex-holder who looks in occasionally with a view to returning to the fold I came across a recent Arbuthnot forecast:-

9/3/09 Buy Y/E 31/3/09 PbT -£4.0m EPS -17.3p 3/10 PbT -£0.1m EPS -0.3p

...think I'll wait for the Final results before deciding whether to take the
plunge and get back in or not

NAV was a £1, but has presumably come down a bit in the last 6m. It's all gone quiet here and it's not very evident what the latest position is. Big ? is how much financial flexibility they have wrt borrowings. I am still tempted to stay put and back these guys to pull through this property slump. Risky, but can't bring myself to sell in the 20s. I suspect they will perform better than most when the market turns around or levels. Not without risk though!

Hey.

So...back to 25p from the dizzy heights of £1-whatever.

Wasn't the net asset value always comfortably ahead of the share price? Wasn't the NAV mostly buildings?
Or did it rest significantly on holdings in associated companies?

The assets and the company valuation (and the gap between them) must be worth some investigation

This is getting thumped when someone sells 6,500. What a nonsense!

The answer is your Bizpace cost you nothing so it is all a total gain. You will only use the £1770.75 when you sell your Safeland. Remenber your AIM tax relief on your Bizpace shares.

I'm trying to fill out a tax return for 2006-2007, which is why i'm still awake at this ridiculous hour. Can anyone please help? I've held 6000 shares in Safeland since 20/06/1995 @ 29p for a total consideration of £1770.75. Hercules Property Services 15/5//96 ( 1 share for every 11), Safestore 20/03/98 ( 7 for 26 ) and Bizpace 30/06/00 ( 8 for 23 ) have all been demerged under the banner of distribution/dividend in species since then. Bizpace was subject to takeover in 2006-2007, does anyone know what % of the original £1770.75, if any, I need to apportion to the acquisition of the Bizspace shares ?

Absolutely enormous share buy back today at 70p (i.e. getting on for 10% of the shares)! The free float on this will be very small going forwards. If trading improves and they introduce a dividend, could be looking very good.

They seem to have held off on investing the available £150m into Flexspace. Maybe a shrewd move with falling values in Q4. Looks like they may get the timing right! Share price is very low given 114p of net assets, a fund business, no continuing losses from Espazio and an improved outlook on their core business of trading proprty.

Yes, I agree. I thought, given the delay, they had not been able to get the fundraising away. Great news indeed.

Todays rns is in my mind great news and it is quite an achievment in the current slightly unhappy environment.

I suspect there may be some forced sellers sometime soon, at which point Safeland can start trading again at the levels it did 5/6 years back. Not low risk, but potentially higher reward.

A few thoughts from me;

It's about time the annual report was posted to shareholders given the results went out 2m ago!

We have lost 25% here in a few months. A couple of thoughts:

- sounds like they maybe having some difficulties in closing out the flexspace fundraising, given the lack of news and difficult conditions.

- isn't today's more difficult property market, particularly where forced sellers start to appear, exactly the sort of conditions where their traditional property trading business starts to do well again!!?

Hybrasil - are you still in these. Any thoughts?

On the demerged entities all very disappointing. Any thoughts though on whether Leo Insurance or other entities might start sniffing around Erinaceous Group? The insurance business would be a good fit, albeit many fold bigger!

See 4 of the seven shells are going to be put through a voluntary liquidation. Leaves 1 quoted on AIM that has doesn't done much and two suspended shells. All a bit disappointing 2 and a half years on! Oh well, Safeland itself still looks interesting. May be some more trading opportunities in these conditions as well!

If it wasn't for the 5p spread and the cgt I'd sell with intent to buy back for a few pence less in a few weeks.
But it seems you can't go wrong holding safeland. Safe as houses really. Not a share to keep you awake at night.

A Bizspace 2, but Safeland will be manging the fund. Scope to be a massive fund imo!

Safeland has such a reassuring 5 year share price graph. No doubt it will reach £1.60 one day. Meanwhile I am sure we could all do with a nice cup of tea.

I don't quite get it, that stuff in the chairmans statement about concentrating on this fund business. Could someone explain it again? What exactly are they proposing to do?

I know Bizspace went from 16p to 90p.
What will happen here.
I think when another few deals happen as todays rns indicates they are in the pipeline that you will see a lot of investor interest. My target ? £1.60.
