I love David Icke - on the money again for me - "that's not essential travel, said the computer-software programme, when someone pressed enter". Wonderful stuff and he has our police forces down to a tee.

Interesting chart taken from Twitter, cannot comment on the accuracy but it shows a good spread of how valuations are per flowing barrel of oil.

Here's a good discussion on the realities of CV between two NHS docs. I would listen to these guys any day rather than the hysteria-inducing Icke:

I watched a bit of that Icke vid, and though I think he's partially right there's a whole lot he's overlooking. For example, he queries the Italian lockdown, asking why 'cases are still soaring'. Well, the fact is they are still increasing, yes, but no longer soaring. On worldometers you can clearly see the point, a week or two after lockdown, at which new cases flattened out. This is entirely expected, as symptoms don't develop (and more to the point, don't get serious) for that length of time. They should drop over the next week.

Just as in investing, I personally would rather trust analysis from a numerate individual. But as I said above, the issue should not be the number of deaths, but the load on hospitals. The best way to avoid that would have been to impose this draconian lockdown much earlier and ONLY on the old and vulnerable. But that's probably a very hard thing to get past public opinion, even if you have the command structure of China.

I just wonder how it got so bad in China. (Unless it didn't really, though most people seem to think they've watered down their numbers.) My thinking is that it's worse than regular flu, maybe not massively in terms of overall mortality but in terms of infection spread (due to lack of even partial immunity.) Thus the potential to overwhelm hospitals, the optics of which are horrendous for a civilized country.

Icke has been correct about far too many things to be simply dismissed out of hand. His books are a very interesting read even if you don't agree with him in entirety.

Shale will not be destroyed if US government chooses to bale it out just as they plan to do with many other businesses.

It will not take a few months to destroy shale lol. It will take potentially a few months to destroy older marginal "conventional" crude fields though.

Russia's goal is to destroy shale, in a few months that will be done, just need to take the short term pain, expect £5 Area to be tested again, very likely Uk will extend lockdown, current crude surplus is for April is up wards of 20 million bopd

They are not going to let this get any worse, even SA can see it's now not in their interests no matter what business or politically motivated intentions they have.

'The Daily Telegraph: Russia is seeking talks with Saudi Arabia after a weeks-long oil price war between the two sides plunged the market into chaos.'

So, US already talking with them now Russia. The mess they've created is surely not sustainable.
