When you think that all they do is borrow money from somewhere and lend it too hi risk customers for a hi rate of interest; then when they show themselves to be hi risk what becomes of the borrowings? Higher interest rates as well.
Where does that leave the business model?
Surely this is one business model that relies on confidence .

At the moment this is shot to pieces.

To see how the ROP affects 'normal people google 'vanquis rop complaints'

Plenty of complaints there.

IF the FCA forces Vanquish to repay this charge then the company would be stuffed.

'Vanquis Bank is co-operating with an investigation by the FCA into the ROP ancillary product. ROP currently contributes gross revenues, before impairment and costs, of approximately £70m per annum.'

So they have 120M of debt to refinance in 6 weeks time and a whopping 250M worth due up in 2 years time.

Are there enough idiots out there like Woodford to get together and refinance this crud? Because they sure as he'll won't be able to access the debt markets anytime, the existing bonds were almost junk staatus as it was!

I guess there is a way out for bond holders if they are prepared to take haircuts as the individual assets are sold piecemeal but you've got to ask yourself if those assets are in fact assets as in reality they are other people's liabilities.

My gut insinct is that there are not enough Woodford idiot types to pull it off and clearly longer term this is toast.

I hope that's a little more help for you wherk ps sorry you lost hope it went too much.

Thanks eodfire, no no intention on buying this company, all money out in other company's, but it seems people enjoy other people get hit badly, I was just saying for all the traders out there just be a bit carful on any company what as made a massive drop you can buy in thinking your getting a bargain only to drop a lot later. Good luck who are holding hopefully it will bounce back some for you by the end of the week

People buy these products as long as they understand the terms, PPI was an erroneous charge that acquirers were not aware off, basically people should read the small print!
