22/12/2023 09:53 | 90% of American aid given to Ukraine is then actually spent in arms factories all over America. It keeps thousands of Americans in work, and keeps American military cutting-edge. So funding Ukraine is actually a very cheap way to confront Putin, and will not stop until he is disarmed and in The Hague. | 31337 c0d3r

22/12/2023 05:35 | Russia is a "real and constant" threat to Europe, Sir Keir Starmer said as he sought to distance himself further from Jeremy Corbyn's Labour leadership.Wearing army fatigues, the Labour leader visited soldiers stationed in Estonia to stress his party's commitment to Nato, the defence organisation Mr Corbyn wanted to leave. As well as the military threat from Vladimir Putin's actions, underlined by the war in Ukraine, there was also the risk of other forms of "interference" by the Russian state, Sir Keir said..... 21/12/2023 13:45 | It is not even necessary to reclassify them, Logan. The opportunity to fight for the freedom of Ukraine is a privilege, not a punishment. One might go so far as to say 'a privilege to die for' - many have. | 1knocker
21/12/2023 13:35 | 1knocker - I agree, most of the so called migrants coming across the channel in the small boats are military age men who are invading the UK and therefore the UK government needs to reclassify these men as such and therefore no longer under the jurisdiction of the human rights courts as they would be under the jurisdiction of the UK military. | loganair
21/12/2023 13:29 | We have stacks of fit young men of military age sitting idle in hotels. They are self reliant and have shown initiative and resiliance in the face of danger to make their way here. Rather than waste their talents here or in Rwanda, we should ship them to Ukraine to share in the privilege of participation in freedom's war. That need not even cost us anything, as I expect there are many families in Ukraine with men liable for conscription who would happily pay the cost of flying in such people from the UK as substitutes for such military service. Moreover, there could be no problems with international courts, as Ukraine is universally recognised as a tolerant, freedom loving country where they will be safe from persecution or discrimination of any kind. | 1knocker
21/12/2023 12:27 | A good way to put to good use of inmates and lower your prison population.... BBC Russian Service - "As of 14th December 2023, the largest single category of Russian losses in the conflict are the prisoners conscripted. These conscripts were formed into “assault groups” for offensives against Ukrainian positions near Bakhmut." As so many other posters keep saying I'm a liar and a pro-Putin Russian propagandist, I have therefore decided to quote what the BBC Russian Service are saying and the figures they're giving. | loganair
21/12/2023 10:11 | Yesterday the Ukrainian government said they must preserve men and equipment over the winter and a long parts of the front line may mean pulling back 1 or 2 kilometers to better prepared positions. | loganair
20/12/2023 20:22 | Military equipment wears out. It wears out very quickly absent expert maintenance. | 1knocker
20/12/2023 17:19 | The Ukrainian senior officers in the field are now not only staying they're out of artillery shells they'll also saying that nothing works any more. All the artillery equipment and vehicles the French have given has now given out as not made for a cold winter, rather made for the dry, hot ex-French colonies of Saharan Africa. The equipment the rest of the West has given them is only made for short term fighting not a long term war and also no longer works - why? Because since the Vietnam War, the West has not fought a multi-year all out war therefore the Western equipment is no longer built for a multi-year war. Anybody old enough to remember the Falklands War and the first of the new UK Destroyers to open fire with its single gun of the forward deck. Shock horror to the ministry of defence and the admiralty, within 12 hours of opening fire, the barrel was worn out as was only made to fire a few hundred shells and had fired more then that number in only a few hours. | loganair

19/12/2023 15:58 | Finland and the US sign major defence pact Finland and the United States signed a major defence cooperation agreement in Washington on Monday. Finnish Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen (NCP) and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken penned the pact that has been highly publicised in Finland. Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen (NCP) was also in attendance. During the event, Blinken praised his country's good cooperation with Finland and said this year has been historical in terms of cooperation between Finland and the United States. "Already Finland is making significant contributions to the alliance, sharing technical expertise, hosting and joining Nato military exercises, meeting and exceeding the Nato target of spending two percent of GDP on defence," Blinked said in a speech that also brought up his official visit to Helsinki this past June. | lunar 26
19/12/2023 14:49 | To be fair to masergt, the poor fellow has been so thrown off balance by the appalling suffering of the oppressed folk in Hendon which he has witnessed that he has 'lost the plot' even to the extent of complaining that this board is being taken over by political posts, overlooking that ALL his own posts here are political! | 1knocker
19/12/2023 11:54 | The Russians have been advancing across open fields in the North Eastern sector of the line of contact with no incoming artillery or drone attacks, incoming just small arms fire shows just how short the Ukrainians are of artillery shells and the like. | loganair

18/12/2023 21:13 | masergt Post 21165 Stop Press. This just in. Putin confirms 500,000 Russian soldiers killed. So what if Russia lost 500,000, Ukraine lost only 350,000(or whatever the real two numbers are) Russia - Population 147 million odd Ukraine - Population 36.74million odd Rumours that Ukraine is "conscripting 40's-50's" Hardly a positive sign theyre winning. On a manpower issue alone the Ukraine is screwed. Russia can afford to lose more cannon fodder than Ukraine (That's how they've historically approached many wars) Like the Chinese in fact(see Korean War) who can afford to lose even more. The key is "HOW IMPORTANT" these losses are. Ukraine is screwed. Only question is does Nato/US allow to fall to defeat, or will US/Nato put boots on the ground.... | geckotheglorious
18/12/2023 20:27 | The data is very simple NATO budget per year 1500 billion in 2024 So far it's cost 100 billion to wipe out 50+% of Russian equipment To spend another 100 billion is so cheap Especially as it will come from the 350 billion of frozen Russian assets Western arms manufacturers share prices will continue to boom thanks to the wanted war criminal | 1917again |
