26/10/2015 15:41 | You bulls got lucky......assuming the deal goes through. Listen next next time | elcapital
19/10/2015 22:14 | I agree in a way all public companies will have complaints but a pretty consistent theme about delays in paying out comes through. Interestingly I emailed them and all new registrations are with Cyprus regulators. Suggests to be all is not well with the UK regulators. More to the point when on earth will this deal complete! | pyueck
19/10/2015 21:25 | I sizeable company with that deals will the public will always have complaints. Only complainers shout about a service so it will always seem worse than reality. Only way really to know is try it for yourself. | dodge meister
14/10/2015 14:01 | It will depend on what is said. | elcapital
14/10/2015 13:56 | Cheap company at current share price and 10% below offer price...if the buy out goes through or not, seems like a good buy. Just expect volatility if the regulatory approval isn't gained straight away, trolls will come out spouting their usual to drive the share price down in the short term. | dodge meister
14/10/2015 12:30 | Isn't it about regulatory approval? Not whether they want to buy?? | mrx001
13/10/2015 23:08 | So could rise if deal falls through. Who is to say where the real value is. As a ptec shareholder I think they got a bargain. Hard to see why not to buy at these prices | trentendboy
13/10/2015 15:06 | Price ticking up last 2 days maybe the deal is going to happen! | exbroker
08/10/2015 15:21 | Will this withholding tax apply to shares held via a spreadbet? I have purchased more shares at 350p. Still have dry powder left if shares plummet on account of deal falling through. | seernb
08/10/2015 14:32 | Thats the only way to know how good they are. | elcapital
08/10/2015 14:30 | ELcapital not only do I know how rumours start I know the people who start them!! | exbroker
08/10/2015 14:03 | Thanks Jane. Current situation is intriguing | elcapital
08/10/2015 13:47 | Thanks El C; merely an interested observer now. Must say as well that you called this one well at the start of the year - I just didn't think things could go so badly!. | janeann
08/10/2015 12:50 | thanks exbroker - hadn't appreciated it could be claimed back on the sale of shares so I sold out at the 3.87ish time. That said when I looked at the form I didn't like the idea of sending the info and documents that were required to the Israeli tax authorities; the risk outweighed the benefits so didn't claim the tax back on the dividends either; | janeann
08/10/2015 12:40 | If you were a former broker, you will know what rumours are, and how they start. Anyway there was a false market in PLUS for a long, long time. If you look back you will understand. | elcapital
08/10/2015 12:38 | Hi janeann your broker should have sent you a form to complete so that you get paid gross with no withholding tax. | exbroker
08/10/2015 12:25 | as I understood it there is a withholding tax (15% I recall) on any payments to existing shareholders if the deal goes through; that would make the 400p worth less than 350 to existing shareholders. | janeann
08/10/2015 11:38 | Not relevant as this will be the FCA giving what they know to be price sensitive information to both companies, they would expect it to be made public ASAP to prevent a false market. It could be argued that a statement about the current share price is needed, but if nothing has changed then no news is good news! | exbroker
08/10/2015 11:01 | You may recall PLUS knew about the FCA problems a long time before they were announced | elcapital
08/10/2015 10:58 | I am sure that somewhere in the small print there is a get out clause, but the lack of FCA clearance would kill the deal. The price is way off where it should be, if there was news then an announcement would have to be made, after all the FCA would know to the minute when it sent the blocking email to the companies if indeed it has or will. In my broking years private investors always bought when prices rose and sold when they fell, it was a good guide to the top and bottom. I think that lack of news and the weak share price has made people sell which has caused a further fall in the price... As a guess its 50p up or 100p down from here. It’s about how big are you balls!! | exbroker
08/10/2015 10:16 | Good post stufee. It is a strange situation at present. No position, but if I had to deal I would be short given price action. | elcapital
08/10/2015 10:13 | I'd like to think the price is weakening just due to frightened punters concerned re delay, leading to falls because it is falling, rather than anything sinister - volumes been low. Playtech did make statement on 18 Sept that it knew of no reason why clearance would not be forthcoming. Exbroker makes interesting point that bid is not within UK Code, so Playtech can walk. But surely both shareholders approved transaction six weeks ago and Playtech now legally obliged to proceed subject only to Regulatory clearance? Plus made pretty bullish statement re trading and outlook six weeks ago and if bid lapses due to Platytech problem, I feel any fall to £3 will recover quite smartly, maybe to over £4. If it falls due to Plus' regulatory or other problem, I agree with Elcap's prediction of £2 or even worse! | stuffee |
