I think they know they have it, or they would be on the bid in the market place

18th June RNS Playtec 9.36% If Playtec now, say, hold 10%, the percentage of the remaining shares – those eligible for the Plus500 vote on 16th July – goes up from 35.6% (1st June RNS directors holding) to 39.5% - some way short of the 50% needed for a “yes” vote.

The share pruchase ptec made of I think it was around eight per cent probably is the game changer. Apparently under israeli law these can not be voted to get over fifty percent, but they then reduce the size of the playing field by taking those shares out of the equation. Along with the directors already voting for it, they will, I believe, already be very close to the fifty percent they require.

Clarification: the question is whether PLUS shareholders accept or reject the bid. If they reject it the only plausible reason is that they feel 400p is too cheap.

You dont think the shares would fall if they pulled out of the bid? It will depend on what they say the reason is, but it will fall if they do

macarre, his last sentence implies he foresees a risk that the price will fall if the bid is refused. I don't agree, but wonder how he reached that decision (not to go long).

I have no position in this. I agree that one would have thought if there were some skeletons they would be out in the open now. I suppose holding is a shot to nothing with a small uplift at four hundred, and a very small chance of a higher offer, but I cant see it myself

He says 'the bid could fall through' if shareholders vote against it, due to the offer being too low. Not because it is generous.

His last sentence seems to assume that the bid price is generous to PLUS.

From Paul Scott's blog. He is closing his short on PLUS, and said that 'risk:reward seems to be moving in favour of the bulls'. I'm not back in yet but sense that the good times may be just around the corner. If there was something dodgy about this company it would have already emerged imo.

"My general impression from reading this update is that this controversial CFD provider seems to be getting back on track, after the serious regulatory problems which it ran into earlier this year.

Although risks persist, as the company today says, "The Plus500 Group continues to be the subject of a high level of regulatory scrutiny".

My opinion - it seems to me that the disaster scenario predicted by bears is now receding, so the 400p agreed takeover bid (which the company describes as a merger today!) seems likely to go through now. There's also the possibility that the bid might be improved, with a higher price.

For these reasons, I thought it best to close my short position on this share this morning, as risk:reward seems to be moving in favour of the bulls. Of course, there is still a risk that the 400p takeover bid might fall through, so it's not a share I would want to be long of either."

Goldie - I too have voted no - through Interactive Investor corporate actions.
GLA those who are long!
Are you able to instruct your broker to vote by proxy on your behalf? - if so you will presumably not be receiving 'voting details'. Apologies if I am saying what may be very obvious to a seasoned campaigner.

No one properly know the effects of the FCA investigation. All we do know is that it will have been affected. So to say any price is too low, it just a guess. I really can not see any other result than a takeover at the current offer price.

Goldie - I have voted no already through HL corporate actions. No its not suspect !! - but a deal at 400p most certainly is. The Vix volatility index is rising all the time and is now up to levels last seen in February. PLUS will be making a lot of money, and I want some of the action. Yours, an angry shareholder.

Liquidkid - yes this is indeed getting more and more surreal. Just how much money is PLUS making in the current Greek Crisis ????? - Answer = Lots.

And yes I am big (for me) and long and will be at the EGM asking some really difficult questions like why are we being shafted at 400p

UP 3 today.

Another glorious day for Plus 500!

And what about those humdinger dividends on their way to the luck shareholders. I for one will be reinvesting it as I suppose many others will. So this will likely fly at the end of next month. As has been said many times in the past only a moron would short this with the update and the massive divi and special divi yet to come.

There must be some major news about this to come out before the special meeting. Surely it can't be nodded through at 400p. without any opposition?!
