Talking of dead birds, there was a hell of a kerfuffle at breakfast when a pigeon crashed into the conservatory window, but it turned out it had been zapped by the local sparrowhawk, which then proceeded to rip it to pieces on the lawn. That's London for you; nature in the raw.
