I note there was nothing on the local news or anything online about the many hundreds of community members that gathered in the local park this morning around 9am with dozens of cars and paxis parked illegally, presumably Eid or something related.

How do they manage to operate under the radar so easily?

#7834,

We seem to have gone backwards since the 1940s

Too true.

Barry, I don't know if you watched the video in #7834 but they had the same problem with a whole raft of lead/acid batteries - simply palletised and installed by forklift. With modern hydraulics and robot technology, it shouldn't be too difficult to drop out the spent battery and reinstall a charged one. The trouble, as I understand it, is that in many EV's the battery forms an integral part of the structure of the car. Again, surely something that could be resolved by design.

Mind you, WTF should I care? I'm never going to buy one anyway!

2 more offers of free tickets today.

Taskmaster (which would actually be worth watching, but we are away at the time) and a new Wildlife 'Comedy' with Sue Perkins called Nature table. I think not.

Are Nio not bringing their battery swap station technology to Europe & the UK?

Indeed, but jeffian wasnt proposing that they need to be transferable.

#7840 I am afraid 'the Breakfast Club' rules of origin preclude consumption of alternate meals. Breakfasts, and English Breakfast only (although we could stretch to a Scottish Breakfast).

#7834,

I'm no EV fan but transferable batteries seems an eminently sensible solution to many of the problems. We seem to have gone backwards since the 1940s (and in may ways besides EVs!).

I am just about to switch my mower from one with a power cable to a cordless one. I imagine the garden shed will be reduced to ashes in the foreseeable.
