01/12/2021 12:58 | bad gateway. Shorting on margin can be v expensive, if that's what you're doing. Geared 5x any rise will be huge the other way. Say a farm out deal lands (at any time) and the market reacts with a 5 - 10p rise, not unreasonable as recent falls have probably been inspired by thoughts of a fund raise. Then it's oops! | forwood
01/12/2021 10:52 | Goes back to my chart in post 19715 michael. I'm still watching for the 62p mark to play out and not being happy with closing yesterday (still learning to short) I took advantage of today's rise with a small trade again. New to shorting so small trades to back my charts seems a good way to learn the emotional ropes. | bad gateway
01/12/2021 10:52 | RMC/Freddie Mike290 explained the process last week. Here's a link to his post | spangle93
01/12/2021 10:36 | bad gateway, PANR’s share price was down around 25% when you decided to go short, oil was/is rebounding and the market is blue. What did you see that suggested the share price would go lower? Surely everything was pointing to a rise? Just curious as to your trading strategy. | michaelsadvfn
01/12/2021 10:34 | I would appreciate a pointer on how to join the guild | freddieboy
01/12/2021 10:19 | Can anyone offer any insight in to how to join the guild thread? | rmc100
01/12/2021 08:57 | PoS, I'm with you. While I think the ultimate destination of PANR is bags higher than we're at, it doesn't mean to say that changes in sentiment - macro and self-induced - can't cause a short term correction. As I've discussed with others offline, any people who make money in the O&G sector might actually be those who know nothing about oil and gas, but everything about human psychology. What baffles me, now that there is a guild thread with 68 members, is that we still have posts on this thread just to tell others that the poster has filtered someone. Why? I respect that guild members, reddit members, netflix members, etc have every right to express their views here too, even though I'm not convinced of the motivation, but why just post to announce that someone is making posts you don't want to read if there's already a quality discussion board from which presumably the "dud" posters are excluded? | spangle93
01/12/2021 08:46 | Shorting companies is great way to hedge portfolio, take advantage of price and value mismatch, take advantage of companies that have potential issues and poor management..Yes it is about making money going short most of time Same as going long and hoping a stock goes up...making moneyTell Enron shareholders how it feels to be long only! | waterpolo
01/12/2021 08:32 | I’ve given you an uptick badgateway - not because I expect people to advertise trades, but because if they do choose to do that they at least show some integrity by doing it when they buy and sell. Many provide down ticks based on who the poster is, not what is said or whether the intent of their post is based on openness and clarity. …….and you’ve acted on your convictions, which helps me to better understand how to interpret what you write on here (much of which I disagree with, but at least I sense you believe it yourself). | probabilityofsuccess
01/12/2021 08:31 | Shorting a company is hoping to profit from a company doing badly, and in extreme cases can cause the failure of that company. To hell with the people that depend on that company for their livelyhoods. But then, making money is all important - right? | unlikely2
01/12/2021 08:30 | Perhaps the downvotes are just peeps that are worried about your financial health. | pannikin
01/12/2021 08:22 | Well 3 ticks down in 10 minutes doesn't that just show that contrary to yesterdays moans about advertising trades no one really wants peeps stating they're short. | bad gateway
01/12/2021 08:07 | short again, just for the hell of it. | bad gateway
01/12/2021 08:05 | I think a good start yes JS Some big volumes yesterday Funding soon!! my bet in December | waterpolo
01/12/2021 07:51 | Well with Brent back up to almost $72 and wider markets expected to open blue we will hopefully be off to a good start today. | johnswan193
01/12/2021 07:47 | I am finding that I am filtering more and more of the "contributors" to this blog. | responsible investor
01/12/2021 07:34 | Scot , this is a public forum where people are allowed to express views and opinions . It doesn’t mean they are right or wrong , simply their individual standpoint. You I believe are referring to my last post and my opinions regarding the last rns. We have a conservative NOMAD but the tail should never wag the dog and the dog should be aware that the only view that matters is it’s owners ie shareholders!! | winner66
01/12/2021 07:20 | Must be news soon or will Jay make us wait till Christmas Eve? | bit coin
01/12/2021 03:54 | I think it is always important in these ‘catalyst̵ In my opinion, we are fortunate to be able to call ourselves shareholders and be a part of the discovery of what looks and sounds like a world class oil discovery. It is difficult to keep the long term vision in mind and ignore the day to day ‘noise’ of the markets. I would also like to thank all the posters who have offered their expertise from various backgrounds, I have certainly learnt a lot from this board. | mahanakiwi
30/11/2021 23:48 | And as for the healthy person can't get bad reactions from Covid, the people should have a chat with a 42 year old work colleague of mine, a serious fitness freak who was admitted to hospital and warned that if his body didn't respond to treatment within the next few hours he would very likely have a heart attack. Luckily it worked. I am of the opinion that it's all down to your genes, the vaccines are a mitigation protocol to minimise reactions. Sorry OT, Let's hope the share price recovers somewhat in the coming weeks. | madd_rip
30/11/2021 23:44 | On another bb, initial research from S.Africa and Europe is leaning atm to the strain being comparable to delta where Vaccines are concerned with only a minimal reduction in efficacy. | madd_rip |
