12/1/2007 08:35 | Comverse is negotiating to buy Orca Interactive from the Emblaze group. Orca develops IPTV software to transmit television signals over the Internet. Orca could also be characterized by another word: disappointment. The company went public on London's AIM market two years ago at a company valuation of $63 million. After earnings warnings and weak results, the company's value has sunk to just $10 million. For the first half of 2006, Orca posted revenues of $900,000 and a loss of $3.4 million. Orca has two key assets: $19 million in cash and a product. Comverse did not comment for this report. (Shirley Yom-Tov) gobby | gobbyash

09/1/2007 22:55 | Knowing the type of investors involved I would say someone sold to close a fellows short at 13p; I reckon we have an interested party; 13p to buy could be bottom; thus avoid any FSA interest | par12
09/1/2007 19:29 | par12 - yes, substantial sells on VDI. Interesting ... | explorer88
09/1/2007 19:04 | look at the sells on VDI as well; | par12

07/1/2007 17:42 | What is interesting is Motorola backs ruckus, have ORCA been told to work with them???? | ericthecat
07/1/2007 16:46 | So the seller shows his face | par12
07/1/2007 10:11 | Chunghwa is signing deals with competitors "We're not sure if Orca will actually do Ruckus any good, as it seems to be signing up IPTV clients faster than the Israeli middleware company. Interestingly, one of the biggest Orca clients is Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan. However, Chunghwa signed a deal earlier this year to offer home networking using a Homeplug power system from Intellon, so it has already chosen a different technology." | colinhy
05/1/2007 22:20 | par12 - perhaps the seller of yesterday's 50,000 at 15p in VDI is the same as the seller of 335,381 at 15p earlier, and the mm's know the seller has more stock to offload - hence the price? | explorer88
05/1/2007 22:09 | Eric, I see VDI is falling with no trades; whats your thoughts on that one ?? | par12
05/1/2007 17:16 | I am sure blz would sell, its not a strategic part of blz, money talks to them, if the offer is good enough they will sell. Motorola and comverse are the two most likely to want ORCA. | ericthecat
05/1/2007 15:35 | thanks eric any thoughts about whether BLZ would sell their 60%? or is ORCA still a strategic part of their business? At least with ADA there isn't a controlling shareholder who could block a bid for the company. | explorer88
05/1/2007 15:14 | yep I am sure there is a seller, somebody will want out, institution that got burned maybe?. BLZ still own 60% if I remember without checking. My tip for 2007 this one, I spoke with the company before xmas they have deals in the pipeline and Chungwha is up for grabs this Q | ericthecat
05/1/2007 14:20 | eric - could you confirm what stake Emblaze has in ORCA? Is is 60%? there still seems to be a significant seller in the market (e.g. the 50,000 sale at 14p straight after your buy) edit: ...and another 50,000 sold at 14p... | explorer88
05/1/2007 14:07 | thanks eric - good luck! | explorer88
05/1/2007 13:59 | happy new year eric! if you don't mind me asking, what price did you manage to buy at? | explorer88
05/1/2007 13:39 | well I will continue to use this thread as it has better links on it I purchased 67,000 shares as yet not showed up, I expect good news this year most likely a takeover at 40p, as some have mentioned this has cash at 22p plus the technology and customers. Happy New Year | ericthecat
02/1/2007 23:07 | With about 9 mil pounds cash in the bank and a Mcap of 5 mil; I think like ADA its time will come; Even at cash the share price will double, | par12
01/1/2007 11:01 | Happy New Year Par12! Whilst ADA is market leader (both technological leadership, market share and large customer relationships) in it's sub sector and is likely to rise strongly (with or without takeover); ORCA faces much stiffer direct competition, a much more difficult operating environment, less technological leadership and not-so-good large customer relationships. Overall, i feel that ORCA has potential but not nearly as much as Adamind. What are your thoughts on ORCA? (p.s. have you checked out Atlantic Global - ATL ? - my nap for 2007 if ADA is sold) | explorer88 |
