22/5/2006 12:24 | cash was just over $20m at the last results, but forcast this year was for $11m in revenue and 3 good contract wins will help, now they said they would have most revenue coming in the 3 and 4th Q's, so don't expect the price to go anywhere until 1H results are out the way. If they could announce a tie up with Lucent to be involved in the Telefonica deal then that would move the share price | ericthecat
22/5/2006 11:57 | i know it appears i am being lasy? just trying to do some research here as i missed the adamine rise last time on a contract when it was oversold considering cash pile.just how much cash has this company got and total shares pls? as i dont trust advfn. there numbers are often way out. thank you in advance | sitiain
22/5/2006 11:51 | Yep. Apparently Wanadoo has 7M lines. If correct then Orca has had a win in Alcatel's home ground. Interesting to say the least... | verytense
22/5/2006 11:46 | Could be a very good contract then. | hotfinance14
22/5/2006 11:43 | It can'nt be a coincidence that ECI Telecom also reported a European contract win today. And much the same details as the Orca's announcement... Yahoo message board has a posting that the ECI win is with Wanadoo, a France telecom company. | verytense
22/5/2006 11:30 | so what to all this $1m of revenue guaranteed and for the rest who knows when or if it will occur... Don't get too excited any decent chances of not making losses still looks a long way off Slap | slapdash
22/5/2006 11:28 | If anybody it would be HP/IBM or Lucent to buy ORCA, its a good contract, but it has no friends to push the share price up. It needs more contract wins and good results could take a year. | ericthecat
22/5/2006 10:18 | yes, they might, small change to them but then again maybe an Orca partner would be more than interested I would not be surprised if some of them are already thinking about it. | admarky
22/5/2006 10:11 | Would Microsoft buy Orca ? | hotfinance14
22/5/2006 10:10 | Yes, it would ne nice to know how much $$$, but it does rather seem that some of these smaller companies operating in these areas like to keep their cards to close to their chest so as not to give away pricing when they come to negotiate the next contract. I am sure if we can be bothered we have been guided by Emblaze in the past on typical revenues or cost of licences, ongoing support, upgrades etc...it's just you have to look for it. Anyway, as Orca are now partnering with intergrators and not going it alone I reckon they will be bought up by a competitor in the not too distant future, it doesn't appear Emblaze are going to chuck any more group money at it in quantity, but I could be wrong. | admarky
22/5/2006 09:57 | It would be nice to see poptential revenue figures...could make a big difference on the share price | hotfinance14
22/5/2006 09:55 | well done Orca, a ray of sunshine at last. As usual, no revenue details but it does show that they have product. | admarky

21/5/2006 14:15 | I would like to think ORCA are involved in this? | ericthecat
19/5/2006 15:21 | i think there maybe an overhang, when it dropped from 120p it was on pretty low volume as i remember????? | ericthecat
19/5/2006 15:02 | but a mark down of some 19% is a bit fishy, is there a large overhang to clear off the books i wonder, the spread is also rather wide as always, the brokers it seems dont want to make much of a market in it. or perhaps a big seller is coming to the market and they know about it, Emblaze perhaps. | admarky
19/5/2006 14:42 | BB, there will always be an opposition to microsoft, the industry wants open standards, there will always somebody to follow be it apple/sony/ninetendo ect... ORCA will have a place. ORCA has done everything right except close the deals, they have one of the very best products , good alliances ect,ect...I will look to add late june july/ when news will hopefully come as predicted 3Q/4Q by their CEO at results. Its trading at cash and a good buy to me. | ericthecat
19/5/2006 14:25 | Eric, a month ago you were singing the praises of Orca, what is your view going forward on their future and the share price. The volumes are always very small with a small market size, not a great deal of interest from the city it would seem at present. | admarky
19/5/2006 13:49 | Surely investors here can envisage a day when a large company, for example Microsoft, decide to give away the middleware software so that it is their software that is driving the next generation of set top boxes to lock people in and so there is a smooth transition between the PC, Xbox games console and TV set top box. ORCA cannot compete with that. | britishbear
19/5/2006 13:09 | it certainly does not have any friends out there. | ericthecat
19/5/2006 11:48 | a vicious mark down but no sellers suggests to me it will blow over and the price will gradually recover some ground, the industry know Orca have a good product whether or not as a company they can make any headway is another matter. Certainly investors will need to see some dollars before any new money will be come forward, a cheap take out is probably where we'll end up, I guess at around 50 pence per share, if we're lucky, against a recent broker target of 70P+ which currently seems very optimstic. | admarky
19/5/2006 11:23 | Dire share performance - I have said before, ORCA's product will become a mere commodity and well be given away free - like Windows. There is no future in this company imo. | britishbear
19/5/2006 09:51 | Do not know the reason for the fall, but maybe this as its competition in their markets? | ericthecat
16/5/2006 13:47 | anybody interested may want to read these ? | ericthecat
15/5/2006 20:16 | 15.05.06 A consortium of Israeli companies are teaming up to develop the next generation of video service, assisted by the Israeli government. The Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry and Trade has agreed to help financing the infrastructure project of next-generation video service. The project will cost $20 million over three to four years, according to estimates, and the ministry will foot 66% of the financing. The companies will pay the rest. The companies in question include Comverse, Optibase, Scopus , Orca of the Emblaze group, Bitband, and SintecMedia Software Systems. Chief scientist Eli Opper commented that at the end, the consortium members will have created hardware and software that serves as a generic platform for a personal TV environment, to be used by the masses. | colinhy |
