13/4/2006 23:41 | Where it says great background report. in the header. | ericthecat
13/4/2006 08:42 | Eric, where have you added this iptv guide ? | blinddarts
12/4/2006 11:51 | Corecess is one to keep an eye on, they were the first to link up with ORCA and have just announced 2 deals in Korea, but I do not know who does the middleware? Orca definately does not have KT as they have a korean middleware in their solution, but they have links to Hanaro as they have just bought Celrun to launch celrunTV. Celrun do have links with ORCA so who knows? I have also added the best guide to the iptv industry I have seen for any new comers wishing to do research. | ericthecat
10/4/2006 16:10 | Nice write up on the Jazztel deal. I do think this is a buy here the price is very low for the Number 2 middleware provider in the market! | ericthecat
07/4/2006 09:45 | ORCA has the cash equivalent of 34p per share. But it's losing nearly £2m a year on turnover of around £3.2. The market is valuing the business at around 6p per share, or £2.1m. Which is probably fair value for now. | pbracken
07/4/2006 08:50 | Updated 4 April 2006 Lucent website IPTV and IP Multimedia Solutions for Service Providers. Dynamically adapt and brand the scalable Orca Interactive Subscriber User Interface (SUI) as you see fit - Maximizing the value of your brand with consumers. | colinhy
06/4/2006 17:11 | Orca wins IPTV contract with Spain's Jazztel The multimillion euro deal, led by systems integrator Indra, allows Jazztel to penetrate the residential broadband market. Jazztel has 11.6 million lines (10.7 million with ADSL2+ technology) or 54% of total of lines in Spain. 6 Apr 06 | colinhy
06/4/2006 13:02 | "On the forefront I'm sure Microsoft will still play a big role, but there are clearly accounts where Orca has done pretty well," | colinhy
06/4/2006 07:34 | A start but can't see it helping the share price. | ericthecat
04/4/2006 22:11 | Thats before it was floated; Maybe the MM's are aware of the ADA transaction and saying not here Eli unless its cheap | tone
04/4/2006 20:24 | $20m+ i think. But, if they are any good they will be a take over target. Remember they floated at 90p and quickly went to 120p. Microsoft could buy them with alittle loose change and really clean up in asia aswell. Remember not so long ago ORCA were the crown jewells! | ericthecat
04/4/2006 17:42 | Anyone have the cash value per share handy? Must be getting close. Perhaps BLZ looking to sell ORCA. If ADA is not core then ORCA certainly isn't. The result will be a huge overhang that will be tough to shift in a hurry. Not yet a time to buy imo. | britishbear
04/4/2006 17:18 | I do not think it is good news as uncertainty always creates problems, but post merger I would not think the merged group would exclude ORCA as too many relationships and trials would have been started. The price is very low at present and there is no interest in the company. ORCA have disappointed. All the big contracts are going to Microsoft. ORCA needs news and soon. | ericthecat
04/4/2006 17:05 | Eric, I would have thought that the Alcatel - Lucent deal, despite orca contracts being 6 months or so away would have been a boost to the share price What's your view? I admit to being confused anytime blz have a hand in things !!! :-/ | blinddarts
04/4/2006 15:54 | I am beginning to give up but may get some news tomorrow from here? and you never know? | ericthecat
04/4/2006 15:48 | The buy note seems to have created zero interest! The merger will not have too much of an influence on ORCA as their board stated it will take 6-12 months before they are operating together, hopefully ORCA will have won contracts by then? The merger is subject to customary regulatory and governmental reviews in the United States, Europe and elsewhere, as well as the approval by shareholders of both companies and other customary conditions. The transaction is expected to be completed in six to twelve months. Until the merger is completed, both companies will continue to operate their businesses independently. | ericthecat
03/4/2006 13:15 | Altium Securities have put out a buy recommendation | robow
02/4/2006 17:22 | Sunday April 2 Alcatel, Lucent Seal Deal The news comes just nine days after the two firms admitted they were in talks. Doesn't say much for the Orca directors forecasts for their company as when outlining the prospects for Orca at results presentation last week they predicted that the Alcatel/Lucent deal was unlikely at least for a year. | colinhy
30/3/2006 14:15 | So much for the merger taking 12 months as suggested by the ORCA board members at the analyst presentation. | ericthecat
30/3/2006 12:33 | This was released in Nov 2005, so what I am saying is that Industria have always been part of the solution but developed a very personalised service in Zignal nwhich runs with opera and orca and follows on from the magnet announcements in january 06 opera and orca announcement with opera in feb 06, but I will try to find out for sure. | ericthecat
30/3/2006 10:50 | hmmm.....regarding zignal, I would not discount ORCA working as part of the solution. I have tried to find out but can not say one way or another if Zignal which is part of Industria works with ORCA and opera within the Magnet solution. It does seem like a add on to me, but I will try and get clarification from BLZ? It would also explain why ORCA partnered and had the s/w implememented with opera in february 2006 i.e as part of the magnet solution? | ericthecat
29/3/2006 22:36 | Don't worry HT its results day on the 30th March; or did they try to run before the could walk | tone |
