27/9/2006 08:21 | September 27, 2006 EIS and Orca Interactive Provide Integrated Software Solution for Chinese Set-Top Box Manufacturers SHENZHEN, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EIS (Embedded Internet Solutions, Inc.), a leading technology provider of software solutions for interactive digital television, including digital cable TV and IPTV, announce today they have signed an agreement with Orca Interactive (LSE: ORCA), a global market leader in developing middleware and applications for IPTV, that will provide software integration and qualification services for Chinese set-top box (STB) manufacturers. EIS will integrate Orca's RiGHTv middleware and service delivery platform with the EIS iPanel IPTV Client micro-browser into specific STBs, offering Chinese STB manufacturers an integrated solution. EIS is using Orca's SUI SDK (subscriber user interface software developer's kit) to perform the porting and integration with various low cost STBs, which will be Orca Certified and compliant with RiGHTv. | colinhy
24/9/2006 18:07 | Orca is included in this list of shares valued less than cash Question is is Orca worth a small gamble now with the price so low | orinocor
24/9/2006 09:42 | I wish I could post some goods news for ORCA but the flow of news is only for its competitors like Myrio and now Minerva winning conracts. Worse still IPTV middleware companies like Minerva and Myrio are starting to replace Microsoft and no one choosing ORCA IPTV solution. As ORCA has also lost a number of its existing customers there must now be a general concern about the performance of the IPTV middleware software offered by ORCA maybe this is the reason ORCA has failed to win and keep contracts The Register 24 Sept 2006 "That Minerva has won the all important middleware business must owe something to its strategy change this past six months, where it has dropped all pretence that it operates in the encoder market and gone about making friends with Harmonic, Optibase, Tandberg, and Tut systems and which was seen at IBC last week sporting Scientific Atlanta equipment in its demonstration. Cisco's Scientific Atlanta is understood to be taking the Minerva software to heart to the point where it will build its own internal competence centre around it, and pitch it wherever Microsoft is not already the incumbent middleware offering. If that results in any new business for Cisco then acquisition of Minerva can't be too improbable, and then it would own an end to end IPTV system, with or without Microsoft middleware." | colinhy
22/9/2006 10:51 | 22 Sept 2006 Siemens Supplies Turnkey IPTV Solution to Croatian T-Com "Siemens claims to have provided the entire IPTV system as a turnkey solution for Croatian T-Com, which includes management systems for all the applications, digital rights management, and the integration of different manufacturers' set-top boxes. The middleware, which enables communication between the network and the set-top box, is provided by Myrio." By the time ORCA gets it act together there will be few customers left. | colinhy

21/9/2006 08:53 | The only modern, democratic and enlightened country in the middle east IS Israel. It's surrounded by aggressvive Arab nations that want to destroy it. Under the circumstances it has every right to defend itself. This said, I wouldn't invest in any of Eli Reifman's companies because I have no regard for his abilities as a businessman. | pbracken
19/9/2006 22:17 | Has someone shorted this company, they made a good trade! Every share related to Emblaze turns out to be a dog. Holding them almost all, Emblaze, Orca, Adamind, Zone-ip, Maybe it is a good oportunity to strart shorting Formula now, the new Emblaze child! Is it the war or are they so hated now all the Emblaze spinn-offs. eenmakkie | eenmakkie
19/9/2006 14:25 | They should make it their corporate moto "Orca - A total DOG" Sorry, really annoyed though because the day when the price dropped from 33p to 21p (last month I think) was clearly someone having inside info. The outlook was guarded but OK at last results. | hugepants

19/9/2006 11:59 | I think the title of this thread should be renamed to "ORCA - a DOG of a company". | hugepants
19/9/2006 11:43 | LEAD'S done very well for me, short and long term, so not all Israeli companies suck and certainly not those on Nasdaq. | corrientes
19/9/2006 11:26 | Jesse ... Israeli companies ... Ummmm ? I invested in BATM in their darkest hour, when they were 10p to buy. Doing quite nicely now. Any more generalised sweeping statements ? | rawdeal1
19/9/2006 11:12 | Within the next 18months I think BATM will disprove your theory | cyberdyme
19/9/2006 11:00 | I'm with you Livermore, cannot think of one Isreali company that has achieved anything for it's shareholders, and from personal experience was shafted rather badly by Zen , who are now trading nicely back in the homeland having shafted uk investors to the tune of £50 million! | jotoha1
19/9/2006 10:53 | pbracken, Your comments shows an ignorance of realising the difference between the great Jewish relegion and a state called Isreal. I have respect for Jewsih people but disrespect to Israel after the crimes they have commited in Lebanon. and by the way, can you remind me who wiped Palastine off the map! | gas trader
19/9/2006 10:46 | Classic! Bring releigion into it.... Have you heard of ethical investing! that is not investing in war criminals and children murderers. No wonder you are a sucker... LOL! | jesse_livermore
19/9/2006 10:34 | We have an antisemite in our midst - careful you don't tell him where you live; he might try to 'wipe you off the map'.... | pbracken
19/9/2006 10:24 | That may teach you a lesson not to invest in Israeli companies! They never floated a stock that has any value left in it. Suckers! | jesse_livermore
19/9/2006 09:21 | Nice one Eli; we are all SHAFTED | tone
19/9/2006 09:02 | Im baffled as to why you guys think 7M in net cash and historic tax losses is worth NOTHING to a competitor. | hugepants
19/9/2006 08:58 | What price did GEO go down to in its darkest day? | gobbyash
19/9/2006 08:56 | Lol ! I don't care anyway, i've not bought many, just a little risk reward balanced trade to sit on for 6 months or so. | twigden
