luminoso - that was my point. I don't see how anyone can read it any differently. My grammar isn't that bad, surely :-)

The trick SOH has to pull off, is creating value in OPTI with products on the shelves ahead of releasing the value to shareholders from the 42% because that figure would no longer be on the balance sheet.

re. In specie dividend shares, etc. surely if OPTI are to give us free SBTX shares in the future, they will come from OPTI's 42% holding, so the effect is the same as selling them to give us cash. If we get something, it will surely lessen the OPTI holding in SBTX to an extent ? Apologies if I am missing something.

OPTi share price has rallied significantly since start of year. It was low 60s then with market cap of just above 50 mill. We now have 2 companies with total market cap of 80 million currently. So all I can say at this point is ...Happy Days!! If my rose tinted specs don't need cleaning, then Soh has done us proud with strategy , timing etc on all fronts. Looking forward to the coming months....

There will be an interview with SOH next week with proactive investors. This will hopefully give us more information on everything.

vey much agree with that nickopen, it's all hearsay at the moment.

I trust SOH 100% but yes a direct reference via an RNS of sorts would be a great tonic for OPTI shareholders and begin the value add.

Soh has always stated that the reason behind spinning off skin is to maximise shareholder value. I have trusted him on this, indeed have not sold any OPTi shares to buy SBTX as I believe I already own a pro rata chunk of SBTX. What I would like is some factual guidance on this very soon and will be emailing OPTi if it's not forthcoming in the next few days.

I wouldn't get to hung up on OPTI share price at this stage. Of course there is a difference of opinion of the direct correlation OPTI has with SBTX. I have suggested there will be a correlation of sorts, similar to a fund's share price behaves in relation to the company's performance within it. As SBTX market value grows, so does OPTI'S 41.9%. However, there is confusion around the ex special divi specie date, when and how the divi specie will be distributed, etc. Add the end of the tax year and beginning of a new one and of course some PI's switching. All of this has had an impact since last week.

IMHO I am as sure as one can be without privileged inside info can be, that "special divi specie" mean OPTI holders will get free shares" at a time yet to be determined. Why do I think this and not a cash divi? A cash divi will mean OPTI will need to raise funds to do this and the most logical way would be to raise new funds via a placing; The alternative is to sell the SBTX shares, and given OPTI is a majority holder it would have a negative impact on the share price unless they found a friendly II.

As for spinning off more divisions and how this will impact on OPTI as a parent company. This is more complex and a subject I intended to work on.

For example;

OptiScreen: The identification and development of microbial strains (probiotics) which can affect human metabolism and physiology to create a health benefit. Cholesterol, hypertension reduction, diabetes markets, which can be used to reduce statins dosage or even replace it.

OptiBiotix: The development of microbiome modulators which enhance the growth, biological activity, and biological effect of specific microbial genera and species creating the potential for targeted modulation of the human microbiome. I think of this as weight management. Slimbiome is key to this.

SweetBiotix: The development of sweet natural healthy sugars not digested in the human gut and hence calorie free.

SkinBiotix: Now SBTX - The development of microbial lysates and proteins which improve skin smoothness, remove pathogens, and promote wound healing.

Of course, much more work is needed on this. I have made a start, but it is one for further down the track. One key important component is the logic of owning OPTI will be made clearer as and when SBTX shares are distributed.

There will be a 'lining of pockets', but it'll be the advisors, lawyers and banks and all the other paraphernalia that goes with corporate action.

I'd like one clear universal message on all OPTI products...'OPTI inside' or suchlike.

Stronger together in every way and less likely to be picked off piecemeal by corporate raiders.

Right, I've had my say, I'll say no more.

1bokke - yes fully agree. He claims to have 80,000 shares in Opti. If people did their research they wouldn't have these opinions. As you say clearly here to trash the thread.

If you feel that rage why don't you move on? I agree with Lukead about these two new posters. Been wary of rage from the start, join the clowns thread.

If it is the intention for Opti to IPO its remaining three products, where does that leave OPTI???

While I understand the rationale for the SBTX spin-out, there being third parties involved (CO'N and University of Manchester), I still don't see the need to demerge the other product lines which are all in house, IP-wise (aren't they?).

Separate divisions, yes; new entities, no...there seems no need to me.

The shareholder value argument doesn't wash.

Or perhaps I should stick to charts!¬)

IMO the 'switchers' have created a buying opportunity in OPTI. Investors were paying late 80s on Friday and Monday.

Thought for the day, while we wait at terminal one. Once the confusion is cleared about the special div specie means to OPTI shareholding in respect to SBTX, it is likely a new dawn for OPTI will a more positive one. It sets a benchmark for the next three IPO's (assuming that remains the plan) which should encourage stakebuilding in OPTI in readiness for the next IPO, possibly Sweetbiotix. I don't expect the confusion to last beyond April's IR meeting.

Another update from finnCap.

Another meaningless 'corporate' rating.

Again no target price.

Why are OPTI paying for this rubbish?

Hello Folks - I am sure there was a video above in the header before and I wanted to look at it today. Anyone have a link to the presentation it covered please? Looked on OPTI's website (probably not hard enough) but did not spot it Found the two places where presentations/reports listed. Format could be better.

Edit - Found a few to look at here:
