I also expect them but not tomorrow. Why should a trader be able to buy in last week and get the same rights to these free shares as me a holder for over 2 years. Not only will they most likely flip them and null skins initial buzz and growth it will be unfair for all loyal holders of opti.

branboyd1 - "I never expected free shares"

See post 1088. "in the event of a successful flotation of SkinBiotix, ultimately hold shares directly in both companies."

Pretty unequivocal I'd say. You should expect "free shares" and I'll be angry for you if you don't get them.

Don't agree. Ensuring a tightly held stock will ensure no flippers. Our free share will come much later and I hope they come with lock in terms. I would expect SBTX will be cx2-3 times its IPO valuation by then. I'm in no hurry.

Hope that I've done the right thing.
I got my wife to buy another £6,500 in her ISA acct.
She seemed a bit shocked to be honest!!

I never expected free shares but Opti holders should've had the option to buy shares at a discount to IPO or even 9p I would've been happy with.

I suppose the problem is that if they give out "free shares" then it's instant dilution and whether the shares are priced at 9p, 90p or 0.9p then shareholders will just sell them because it's free money. It's a dilemma I suppose so why suggest it in the first place? If free shares are dished out it'll just be a rush for the exit I'd imagine?

Aimho of course.

Actually, as recently as October 2016:-

"The directors believe that shareholder value could be maximised as existing shareholders may, in the event of a successful flotation of SkinBiotix, ultimately hold shares directly in both companies."

There it is. If shareholders don't get "free shares" I'll campaign on your behalf. Let's hope you all get your "free shares" tomorrow and then I won't have to.

Fingers crossed then.

Personally I'm looking forward to results day on 25th April. Anybody fancy a stab at revenues, profits and cashflow?

Nope still on mouse just the speculated date these shares will be distributed. The shares in sbtx will be worth more when we are allocated them so all looking very good here. Thanks for looking out for us though.

"The directors believe that shareholder value could be maximised by adopting such a strategy whereby existing shareholders could, in the event of a successful flotation, ultimately hold shares directly in OptiBiotix and one or more of its underlying divisions."

Does seem to imply that shareholders would get "free shares" doesn't it. Personally I'd be very disgruntled if I didn't.

Perhaps just more OptiB*ll*x?

Aimho of course.

I don't suppose shareholders can be blamed for suggesting a free 1 for 1 share offer given the above RNS, although everyone on the main thread now appears to have changed their minds as if they knew it might not happen all along. ;)

Yes, and if the IPO goes well we may see a rise in the OPTI share price too. So when they want to buy back in they may be paying a bit more than they bargained for. All hypothetical of course but tomorrow may well see some swings in the share price both here and in SBTX.

Think it's around %27 possibly even less. Means those selling today to buy skin at a later date will be buying them at a premium I expect

I guess that there will be some free float shares tomorrow to allow a market - No idea what percentage of the placing shares it will be though.

JJ, have to agree. As they say, what difference does a penny or two make in the long run if the share price has risen well since you bought.

If you think opti is 'disposing' of skin then you have completely misunderstood what is happening

There will not be shares tomorrow given to Opti holders. Why would a company give free shares on date of ipo allowing for traders etc to flip and move on. Of course thats not going to happen. As admission document states there will be an opti lock in for 12 months. In my view the redistribution to shareholders will be to those who have been loyal to Opti rather than the sell on 10% and move on brigade. It could include holding opti on a certain date or for a period of time. In 12months the shares will not be 9p a pop!!

Combination of locked-in shares and institutional IPO buyers could make Skinbio shares pretty illiquid on launch resulting in a very sharp rise on any demand. Seems a little silly to be offloading OPTI in the circumstances.

Yes indeed elrico,

I know the answer to his question 1081 but i'm not telling him, if he wanted to know (but why should he, as he isn't a holder), he could have gone to the show and got it from the horse's mouth and at the same time he could have thrown a rotten tomato at his arch enemy TW lol
