22/10/2024 07:26 | Possibly locals :- | skinny
22/10/2024 06:57 | Morning All. Skinny, looks same sort of deal but I must admit I'm not keen on the red interior. This is the one at Harwoods:- | mrphil
22/10/2024 05:54 | Good Morning. MrP - this is the one that I saw at Hendy Southampton :- Looking like another red start. | skinny
21/10/2024 17:32 | Down 0.75% MEGP/LUC/CREI biggest fallers. KITW only winner. Seems a lot of the more liquid AIM stocks being sold down ahead of possible IHT changes. | dr biotech
21/10/2024 17:16 | Whst a dreadful market, very annoying. Dwn half a % today. No decent risers. Drip drip down till budget day, then up? I'm 21% cash. | scottishfield
21/10/2024 16:49 | This afternoon's new highs were £2105/$2741 for gold and £26.32/$34.31 for silver. It's getting ridiculous when you get new highs morning and afternoon - but it is helping FRES shares along. (Up nearly 50% in 6 weeks as they struggle to keep up.) They rose 7% today, to lift me all of +0.01% overall. I'm surprised my other stuff did not fall further, given the way the market went, but my lot have a habit of playing catch-up the day after. I went for a bike ride and did well apart from the middle-aged guy who tried to kill me in an oldish estate. I went past him as he was about to pull out from my left as I approached a right turn uphill. Aware he would catch me up I checked I still had room, peddled hard to give me emough momentum and pulled across with my right hand out. When I got to nearly to the centre line, to my surprise, his bonnet appeared under my hand and as he tried to push past and left and get inside the looming central island that protected the waiting spot for my turn, forcing me to swerve one-handed to the left to avoid hitting him. I swore at him. (I rarely swear.) I should have kicked his car and made him stop. He should have his license revoked (if he had one). There was no other traffic so he could have gone to my left to start with, or breaked and pulled back in, or even gone around the wrong side of the island but, no, he'd made his mind up that my life was less important than him losing a couple of seconds. I did not get his plate reg. If I'd had video, I'd have taken it to the police. I might have to get a camera. It's getting dangerous out there and these people need taking off the roads. I only do about 5% on roads and try to avoid it at all costs. It was not this bad a few years ago. A dry overcast day, with a southwesterly that felt chilly without the sun. It did com out belatedly but could not make much difference. Lots of leaves and branches are down follwoing yesterday's weather. The top 1/3rd of our Lombardies are nearly bare. 14.3C after 10.5C. | aleman
21/10/2024 16:35 | Skinny, no it's a brand new car that they have just registered, presumably to hit targets! It has black leather. At Harwoods Chichester, should be on their website. They also have a red one in the showroom but it's been sold or I could have been very tempted! Not a great day for my lot but could have been worse. -0.32% INVP, SSE & NG. EDIT: Skinny looks like it is on their website but still showing at £74,230, but it now has £44,900 on the screen and a big sticker saying "save £30K"! | mrphil
21/10/2024 16:31 | My awful run continues - 0.68% , nine red days out of the last eleven. .. just BP and SHEL blue out of my lot today. Twenty five others red. Added some BATS. The sun never arrived and not warm enough for shorts 13C. Got the mower out set high to gather more leaves. Went for a local walk late afternoon. Very quiet. My wife is at the Repair Cafe feedback meeting tonight so it's chicken and chips with a bottle of merlot for me. Hooked on the series 'Yellowstone' - excellent | philanderer
21/10/2024 16:27 | DF - would that be the Spirit of Discovery by any chance? | skinny
21/10/2024 16:26 | I'm down -0.565% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.479%). Worst falls: S32 -3.40%, ADM -1.75% and TATE -1.65%. Best rises: SMDS +2.37%, WDS +2.25% and BP. +1.31%. WDS deciding to delist from London is a problem, as I gather that Halifax will not trade shares in Australia, so I may have to dump them. What to replace them with? Maybe wind energy? Tomorrow will be the last day of reporting as we are off on a cruise on WEdnesday, home on Bonfire night. Radio silence until then. I am trying to sort out a mass of paper on my desk. Stuff from over a year ago that needed filing. That's a euphemism. DF | deanforester
21/10/2024 16:00 | I finished down 0.58%. This is soul destroying lately. MrP - is that the one with the red leather interior? | skinny
21/10/2024 15:55 | Another red start to the week !Not a lot of blue about,If one of my larger shareholdinds by number of shares (ZOO)hadn't risen by 17.5% things would have been a lot worse, Down 0.39% on day, | malcolm caton
21/10/2024 15:51 | What happened to the wall to wall sunshine promised on my app. The remains of Ashley are sticking around except in the North West / East. -0.39% folio, [FTSE All-Share -0.52%] GSF +6.3%, WDS, the only material gainers. PLUS worst faller. Showtrial season 2, on iPlayer & currently on tv, I'm catching up good watch. | blueliner

21/10/2024 11:35 | GS lower bank rate forecast to 2.75% for Nov 2025. They obviously think things are deteriorating. | aleman
21/10/2024 11:08 | Well, markets are running scared of something. Gold £2100/$2737. Silver £26.21/$34.07. | aleman

21/10/2024 10:54 | Aleman it’s simply wealth distribution from the perceived rich to poor it’s political. | m.j.g
21/10/2024 10:20 | Looking to raise £40bn in the budget now? Most of it could be covered by stopping the Q.T. sell-off ahead of natural run off. (Selling at a loss in the market instead of just waiting for Gilts to be repaid at maturity with no loss.) I've also discovered that there has been a surge in government Net Investment last year and this that accumulates to more than £100bn.(i.e. more than £50bn per year. That's not the total - that's the increase from 22/23, going from average to way above it.) What is all that for? HS2, perhaps? Roll these two back to where they were and we could be having significant tax cuts, yet it gets no coverage. Is this all unnecessary plundering of the taxpayer to give a treasure chest to send the way of "business associates" by the leaving and/or arriving government? Is it creating of a stockpile of money somewhere to throw at the next election? It smells fishy. Net investment actually jumped sharply to something like 3%+ of national income last year and is headed for just under that this year but it's hard to find clean figures. I'm going off sharply higher Net Investment figures in PSBR figures. | aleman
21/10/2024 09:23 | Morning everyone. kiwi, glad you enjoyed the film. Some terrific acting. Cloudy, dry and not cold here at the moment. Portfolio leaning to the red side. | philanderer
21/10/2024 07:33 | Morning gents, felt the brunt of storm Ashley overnight and thankfully solar panels and roof intact. I read that solar panels, if fitted correctly, should withstand 140mph winds, fortunately, winds topped out at around 60mph. Gusty this morning but, feeling mild. Scottishfield, no problem, I'll add you to next weeks table :) Which part of the country are you from SF, I'm in the Kingdom of Fife, just North of Edinburgh? wllm :) | wllmherk |
