+0.3%. STCM provided the boost but it should have been bigger.

Sunny all day but a cold windchill when I went cycling after lunch. I did a bit better. Tried to cut the grass but it was too wet still. 11.8C after a (still overreading) 3.5c.

Miserable weather today, dark, damp and cold 13C . Rain stopped lunchtime.

A day for spending money. A new TV for the bedroom , to be collected from Argos when I go to Sainsbury's in a couple of days. And booked three nights in Valencia for the end of the month to tie in with our birthdays ( my wife and I have the same birthday but I've had a few more )

Chicken and chips tonight and a bottle of merlot.

They don't half seem to spend a lot of money on London. I'm not saying it isn't needed but London always has big projects going. Leeds and Bradford traffic is appalling. When does West Yorkshire get a tube line, for instance? When does the Ouse get a bit of dredging to stop York flooding? They've just let sediment levels rise and trees grow along and into the sides for decades and don't seem to care.

Dr Bio - Messy and stressful stuff is dementia. Do his kids have the right to sell his home or has he not been declared incapacitated yet? We've had lots of bother with care home fees. They've made quite a lot of mistakes in invoices to us - some small and one or two not, always their gain. And we have to keep a close eye on medications and treatments - also some small errors and one or two not so small ..... and that's in a very, very expensive care home. They all have high staff turnover issues that lead to admin issues. My mum has burned through all her money now and the council tops up her pensions and benefits to reach a rate that is only half what they were trying to move her onto as the cash ran out. Now it feels like they are trying to cut corners at times, though still better off than being moved. (Had my mum been fit enough, the council would have moved her to one of their homes.)

The school run was very cold because the sun is no longer above the houses so it was all in the shade and just that hint of a north wind feels bitter.

Page and Coral report deteriorating markets. But the B of E and government keep telling us it's getting a bit better ....

Had an early walk today Boveney to Bray along the Thames Path. Very few people about and not a single boat to be seen. The river was very high, a brown colour and racing along. Some weak sunshine helped the temperature but not too warm 13C . Had our sandwiches and hot drink at Dorney Lake.

Passed a Murco garage with petrol at 132.9p

justice, DF posts his holdings a couple of times a year and I'm pretty sure it doesn't contain any trackers. I think his portfolio is mainly composed of a good spread of FTSE100 shares

DLG Dividend received and will be re-invested.

Both IPU and SNR doing some damage this week.
