Not good at all today, -0.50% AV., INVP & LLOY the worst offenders today.

We have the most beautiful blue sky now, really setting off the colours. Pity it will be dark soon!

The Bank of Canada has cut interest rates by half a percentage point to 3.75%, and economists are expecting another cut of the same magnitude at the next meeting in December.

Couldn't they have anticipated better and led with some smaller earlier cuts, before job losses and supply china reductions? Overdoing the squeeze and damaging the supply chain creates higher inflation in the next upswing. It looks like another central bank that was wrong to suggest bond markets were getting too keen on earlier rate reductions. It increasingly looks like bond markets were right.

Does this increase the chances of the UK cutting by 0.5% in November? I suppose that's hard to say with next week's budget from an unpredictable chancellor.

No, no direction, impossible to predict anything imo. A bit of a lottery I'm afraid. As difficult a mkt as I can remember. 26% cash here, the rest is suffering.

No sign of the forecast mist/fog. Portfolio down again, that's eleven out of the last thirteen days now.

Good morning. It looked set to be sunny when I got up but it rapidly turned foggy for a cold school run. There are signs that the sun might break through again, though, so hopefully a nice day to come.

We went to York's Designer Outlet last night to get dinner and then a new rucksack for No.3 . It was dead and there were lots of sales on, though it was hard to find 50% or 60% off anything when you actually walked into each store.

Down 0.06% Decent rises from MEGP/PCIP not enough to off set the losses elsewhere.

17-11 to the reds, 3 YTD lows.

Former hold Heiq to delist. A couple of years ago the CEO was singing the benefits of an AIM listing in a promotional video for the LSE. Guess he managed to make himself rich whilst shafted shareholder and lowering the reputation of AIM from its already low position

Closing report for a couple of weeks.

I'm down -0.348% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.141%).

Worst falls: ADM -1.96%, TW. -1.71% and BLND -1.68%.

Best rises: BATS +1.44%, SMDS +1.18% and BA. +0.94%.

As predicted I sold WDS and replaced it with a near full holding of UKW, Greencoat UK Wind. Similar yield.

5pm-ish tomorrow should see us sailing out of Portsmouth on Spirit of Discovery.

I shall have a lot of catching up to do when I get back home on 5th November.

Down not a lot after recovering from a fairly red position earlier, mostly down to FRES rising another 2.9%, while the rest stagnated.

A very sunny day with cloudy spells. Pleasant if you could get out of the breeze. 14.9C after 7.6C.

Thanks wllm, could do with more time on the boat but we do enjoy it when we can. Even just being on board reduces the stress levels and then if you can untie the ropes and get moving, well that really means "they" can't get at you!

I'm also having a poor run of late. Since hitting a YTD high at the end of September it's mainly been downhill in October.

We have been watching Bloodline on Netflix of late, really enjoying it.

Just down again today -0.09% that's ten out of the last twelve days red. Best gainers BATS and RS1 , fallers DPLM, MKS and NG.

Weather couldn't make up it's mind. Sun, overcast then sun again with a shower thrown in when I was out litter picking 15C

QPR v Coventry tonight and they can do without me. I refuse to walk to the railway station, take the train and then the tube to watch that useless shower lose another game. Prefer to stay in and have a nice dinner that's been in the slow cooker all day ; beef, carrots, swede, onions, potatoes and dumplings plus a bottle of merlot.
