In terms of the portfolio that was my second worst week of the year with only 1 gainer.

It's been cold here with a chilly breeze, max temp today was 10c, going to be 6c overnight. Tomorrow looks significantly colder with 0c forecast and 3c overnight on Sunday. We are trying to keep the heating off until 1st Nov, I quite enjoy the challenge but, Mrs wllmherk starting to moan. Off to a Chess Congress this weekend so hopefully the playing hall is warm.

Finished a disappointing week though on a higher note, folio +0.31%

Could do with a flock of your regular visitor Mr P, have quite a few menacing mounds.

I finished up 0.12%, -0.51% on the week and +5.18% YTD.

3/7 on the quiz.

I'm up +0.390% on the day today (FTSE100 +0.193%), but down -0.50% on the week (FTSE100 -0.33%) and up +10.67% YTD (FTSE100 +6.73% and HIX +5.99%).

Best rises: SMDS +2.45%, S32 +2.44% and TW. +2.17%.

Worst falls: GSK -1.66%, VOD -1.15% and RKT -1.07%.

A couple of bounces there wi th TW. and GSK reveresing the previous day's action.

A good end to the Test. I missed this mornings action, as it was all over.

MrP , lovely pic, my favourite bird.

Another rotten week for my lot. Nine red days now out of the last ten. Seems to be one awful performer every day. SBRY -6% the cause of it today. Big fallers on the week SBRY, RSW, GRG, BP and RIO

Portfolio today -0.19% , on the week -0.75% , making + 6.19% YTD

Beautiful sunny blue sky day 14C . Garden tidying, one load of washing and a late afternoon walk. Ordered a new pump for the smaller pond , sounds like the bearings are going.

Lunch out tomorrow then cinema to see 'Lee' starring Kate Winslett. Hike on sunday.

Lasagne and salad tonight with a bottle of red.

+0.1%. YTD +2.6%. That's down again over couple of weeks that I have accumulated some significant ex-dividends. I don't know how much of them will be spent so we'll have to see how that progresses through November, when I expect to see at least a bit left to reinvest.

A very sunny day after the frost but the breeze picked up and it was cold again. 13.0C after 1.0C.

Ended the day just about evens so that's -0.35% on the week, and now +6.56% YTD

Classic car run tomorrow, probably the last of the year and I may even take the daily car as the weather isn't looking great and I have rear passengers and that would be no fun for them in the Stag if we have to put the roof up.

Sunday I have on my list to redo the resin grouting on the front path as much of it came out when I pressure washed it last week!

Bit of an odd day today, just looked at my "monitor" and it looks a red page (though ita 12-12 - clicked on the portfolio tool and its actually 21-9 to the blues and a gain of 0.5%
Norcros/Sup/MRGP all worthwhile winners, nothing too bad amongst the losers. More surprising is its was a positive week, ytd a very round 8.001%

Tennis tonight against our local David Lloyd - their "A" side. Mixed doubles, supposedly the best 4 players they have though they don't normally take mixed doubles too seriously. They are always strong, you don't pay £100+pm to play tennis if you are rubbish. Our club is £180 a year.

A beautiful sunny morning, too cold to get out of bed any earlier.

Portfolio red again ( 9 days out of the last ten now) caused by Qataris selling down their SBRY stake.

Quiz = 3/7 which I knew.

My wife snapped some great photos of the Northern Lights last night.

Morning, 4/7.Quiz

Looking at high yielders I don't have in the ISA Folio. Would use up the annual CGT allowance for the last time on another transaction with a low yield to pay for it. For historical reasons will always have a few stocks outside the wrapper.

Can't convince myself about LIO.
TFIF or POLN may fit the bill.
Then there's always LLPC fixed interest.

Good morning. Our 3rd frost here this Autumn. It was only 3C last night when neighbours were out taking photos of the pink Northern Lights. I still managed not to see them. I've never seen them. :-(

Hays recruitment have posted bad numbers and say they are assuming 2025 could be worse than 2024. Where's this recovery?

Mixed bag. Lio biggest loser, with MEGP. CLI only worthwhile gainer. Cats bill near £700. He’s not well after the op which is tough to watch. Just glad that we can afford it, unfortunately many could not. Not covered by insurance either.

Puncture on way home. RAC turned up in 20mins.

Normal service resumed with another down day - that's eight out of the last nine.

Today portfolio -0.47% ..... big fallers WTB, RS1, IMI, NICL and TSCO xd .....BP the best gainer. Bought a few more NICL.

Much fresher day 14C, very light rain ended by lunchtime. Did some more cutting back had forty winks and went out for a local walk. Nobody about.

Spaghetti and meatballs tonight in a chilli tomato sauce. Bottle of merlot. Will watch England v Greece.

Actually, I overlooked (ADVFN not showing) the bid on BEG fell from 95.0p to 90.6p so that's a surprising fall of 4.6% on no news. They should be doing well with insolvencies, mortgage defaults and housing sales volumes all rising but obviously some folk don't agree!
